On the evening of December 3, the U22 Vietnam team defeated U22 Laos 2-1 at Rajamangala Stadium in the opening match of men's football group B of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

Speaking after the match, coach Ha Hyeok Jun of U22 Laos said: "I believe the players tried their best until the last minute. The result was not as expected, but I am proud of my students. We need to focus on recovery, then consider the match against U22 Malaysia on December 6."

What do you think about the second goal of U22 Vietnam?, a reporter asked.

Coach Ha Hyeok Jun replied: "We need to review the video. Initially, the referee raised the flag for offside, thinking that the U22 Vietnam player was blocking our goalkeeper's view. But then the referee changed his decision. Therefore, we need to review it."

At the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, U23 Laos lost to U23 Vietnam 0-3. This time, U22 Laos lost to U22 Vietnam 1-2. What do you think about these two matches?, the reporter asked further.

The Korean coach said: "I believe that U22 Vietnam still maintains its strength as before. However, U22 Laos has made certain progress compared to the previous meeting. Hopefully everything will continue to improve in the next confrontations."
