The “blank spaces” mentioned in the film are hypotheses about how the main character Nguyen Ai Quoc escaped the surveillance of French secret police to secretly go to the Soviet Union to attend the 5th International Communist Congress; this was the time when he first set foot in Petrograd, and he worked until mid-April 1925 - the time he went to Moscow to attend the congress.

Through documents, witnesses, contexts and interviewed characters, along with the use of re-enactment, Uncle Ho's journey to Russia appears like an engaging action movie.

From the past in episode 1 - Historical blank space, the journey following in his footsteps is led to the present in episode 2 - From the Soviet Union to the 100-year journey . Through the stories told from the land of birch trees, Uncle Ho's mark and affection for the country are further clarified.

"What could be more disappointing, what could be more longing than the desire to meet Lenin once forever unable to come true?", the commentary resonated, making viewers moved by his feelings when his wish to go to Russia to meet leader Lenin was not fulfilled.

The original image of the newspaper published exactly 100 years ago, which featured Uncle Ho's farewell to the leader of the Communist International movement, is a valuable highlight of the film.

The two interviewees, Associate Professor Dr. Ha Minh Hong (Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh National University) and Professor Dr. Hoang Chi Bao (Senior Expert of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics ), contributed to decoding the time Uncle Ho spent in Russia; while the domestic and foreign guests living and working in the land of birch trees helped viewers understand more about the deep affection of the Russian people for Uncle Ho.

The film ends with the image of the newly erected statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Saint Petersburg to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's first visit to Russia (1923-2023).
