On May 24th, Mr. Le Luu Dung, director of Jungle Boss Co., Ltd. (Bo Trach, Quang Binh ), announced that his company's expedition team had just returned to the mysterious lake inside Thung Cave, located in the strictly protected area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.

However, strangely, the water level in this lake dropped by 2 meters in just a few days. Remarkably, the water level dropped even though it had been raining around the cave in recent days.

The unit's expedition team has yet to locate the lake's inlet and outlet. However, initial surveys suggest the lake could be more than 10 meters deep.

The question arises whether the bottom of the lake is connected to some kind of underground river. The water level of this underground river is also high enough to create sufficient pressure for the lake's water to rise and fall as it is in a position seemingly "suspended" on the cave wall.

Additionally, when the water receded, the expedition team discovered a stalactite formation that appeared to have dropped from the cave ceiling and floated on the surface of the lake.

"Our expedition team has many years of experience exploring the cave system of Hung Thoong Valley, a strictly protected area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, but we have never seen such a rapid change in lake water level," Mr. Dung said.

Previously, on May 10th, Mr. Le Luu Dung, director of Jungle Boss Co., Ltd., stated that his company's survey team had just discovered a mysterious lake in a side branch of Thung Cave, part of the Hung Thoong cave system.

Remarkably, this lake is situated about 15 meters higher than the main underground river branch inside the cave, giving it the appearance of being "suspended" on the cave wall.

To the naked eye, this lake is located about one kilometer from the cave entrance and has a surface area of several hundred square meters. It is surrounded by stalactite columns.

The survey team has not yet been able to measure the depth of the lake due to a lack of diving equipment. They have also not yet found the source of the water flowing into this mysterious lake.

Due to its unique location, the survey team has temporarily named the lake "Lơ Lưng Lake" (Suspended Lake).

The Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism stated that they will have to survey the technical indicators of the lake, and only if it is deemed safe will they allow exploitation.
