On December 12th, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) in Vietnam, in collaboration with the An Giang Provincial Farmers' Association, the Union of Friendship Organizations of An Giang and Dong Thap provinces, and the People's Committees of Kien Luong and Thanh Loc communes (An Giang province) and Truong Xuan and Phuong Thinh communes (Dong Thap province), organized a workshop to summarize the project "Decent Housing, Peaceful Life".
The "Decent Housing, Peaceful Life" project, implemented by HFHI Vietnam from May 2024 to December 2025, has a total budget of over 4 billion VND, of which HFHI Vietnam contributes 3.4 billion VND. The project supports the construction and repair of houses for poor, near-poor, and households with particularly difficult circumstances in An Giang and Dong Thap provinces.

The project has implemented key activities including: building 30 new houses in An Giang; repairing 40 houses in Dong Thap; providing training on clean water, sanitation, and land-related knowledge for local people; and supporting livelihood models for 255 households.
After nearly two years of implementation, the project has achieved its set goals, supporting people with stable and safe housing, thereby creating motivation and a foundation for families to overcome difficulties, rise out of poverty, and stabilize their lives.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing ways to improve access to housing, housing support programs, and optimal housing models and designs that are cost-effective, safe, and sustainable, as well as mobilizing resources and fostering multilateral cooperation.
Thirty households benefiting from the project received house certificates from the An Giang Provincial Farmers' Association.
On this occasion, HFHI in Vietnam, the An Giang Provincial Farmers' Association, and the An Giang Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations also signed a cooperation framework agreement for the period 2026-2028, marking an effort to maintain and expand cooperation in the new phase.
“The project aims to improve living conditions through building and repairing houses and helping households access necessary information and skills on sustainable living and livelihoods. In the future, we will continue to work closely with local authorities to understand support needs and develop appropriate programs,” shared Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Tran, Country Director of HFHI in Vietnam.
