To proactively respond to storm Kalmaegi (storm No. 13), cold air, rain, and floods, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang has requested school leaders to notify preschool children, students, and trainees across the city to be off school on the afternoon of November 6. Vocational training institutions, universities, and private universities will proactively decide on students' attendance based on the actual situation.
Leaders of units and schools must not be negligent or subjective, but must focus on leadership and direction with a spirit of urgency, determination, and proactive response to bad situations caused by storms and floods. Have plans to ensure the safety of teachers, workers, preschool children, students, trainees, and the unit's assets and documents.
Schools should proactively arrange a time to notify parents and arrange and assign teachers and staff to manage preschool children and students; for educational institutions with boarding schools, they should notify suppliers and not take food to organize cooking to avoid excess meals. For educational institutions with boarding schools, in case students cannot return home, the head of the unit must assign teachers and management staff to ensure the safety of students, teachers and workers.
Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang, said: "School leaders must closely monitor the developments of storm No. 13 and the heavy rain situation to proactively respond. Regularly grasp and effectively implement the "four on-site" motto including on-site command; on-site forces; on-site materials, means and funding; on-site logistics and prevention principles, to respond promptly, especially when the storm makes landfall directly in the city; heavy rain causes widespread flooding. Promptly report any arising problems to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, so that local leaders know and direct handling."
According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from November 6 to November 7, in the communes and wards of Da Nang city, there is a possibility of widespread heavy rain. Based on the actual situation and conditions, proactively deploy programs and appropriate forms of teaching and learning when students cannot go to school in areas with landslides, flash floods; areas flooded during days of rain and storms with complicated developments.
