Import and export activities through Ma Lu Thang - Kim Thuy Ha Border Gate continue to be maintained. The total import and export turnover of goods through Ma Lu Thang - Kim Thuy Ha Border Gate from January 2024 to May 22, 2025 reached 29.6 million USD... In recent times, trade cooperation between Lai Chau province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China) continues to be maintained, the authorities of the two sides regularly exchange through the form of sending diplomatic notes, organizing online and direct conferences, and phone calls to jointly remove difficulties and obstacles to promote the development of border trade between the two sides.
To strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, trade and tourism between Lai Chau province (Vietnam) and Yunnan (China), creating favorable conditions for the export of goods through the Ma Lu Thang - Kim Thuy Ha border gate pair in the coming time, Lai Chau province proposed a number of cooperation contents that the two sides need to pay attention to: Early designation of the Ma Lu Thang - Kim Thuy Ha border gate pair for the import and export of agricultural products, fresh fruits, aquatic products, and medicinal herbs of the two sides; allowing Lai Chau province's advantageous products such as cardamom, turmeric, cardamom, ginger, sugarcane, bananas, etc. to be officially exported to the Chinese market.
