Conference on deployment and guidance for reviewing and demarcating ethnic minority areas for the period 2026 - 2030

On the afternoon of December 2, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to deploy and guide the review and demarcation of ethnic minority areas in Ca Mau province for the period 2026 - 2030. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang attended the conference.

Organizing the review and delimitation of ethnic minority areas according to Decree No. 272/2025/ND-CP dated October 16, 2025 of the Government to identify hamlets and especially disadvantaged areas; communes and wards in region I, region II and region III. This is an important task, the basis for implementing ethnic policies for the period 2026 - 2030. The review results are integrated into programs, policies, and projects for socio -economic development and social security in ethnic minority areas; strengthening the effectiveness of State management, perfecting the ethnic minority database, serving digital transformation and long-term policy planning of the province.

The conference deployed Plan No. 0184/KH-UBND dated November 11, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on reviewing and delimiting ethnic minority areas in the province for the period 2026 - 2030; guiding the process and forms for reviewing, synthesizing and delimiting ethnic minority areas in the province for the period 2026 - 2030; providing detailed instructions on reviewing and determining criteria for delimiting ethnic minority areas.

In order for the delimitation to be accurate, objective, and to properly reflect the natural, socio-economic, and population conditions of ethnic minority areas in the province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to urgently review, evaluate, and delimit areas, thereby identifying particularly difficult hamlets and wards and communes and wards in areas I, II, and III; paying attention to reviewing all communes and wards, including localities without ethnic minorities, to ensure the preparation of complete records according to the requirements of the Central Government.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang requested departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to consider this a key and important task, uphold the sense of responsibility in organizing and implementing, ensuring objectivity, publicity, transparency and accuracy. Relevant departments and branches provide full and specific guidance on criteria for localities to carry out accurate zoning.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang assigned the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to be the focal point to monitor, urge, remind, synthesize and report full progress; promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee on difficulties and problems beyond its authority during the implementation process to direct handling, ensuring the review is completed on schedule as planned.
