On October 15th, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Dak Nong province announced that, as of October 10th, 3,825 cases of conjunctivitis had been recorded in the province.
The majority of cases were among students, accounting for 3,048 out of 3,825 cases, or nearly 80%. Currently, the two clusters of conjunctivitis cases at Le Thi Hong Gam Primary School and Dak Mam Secondary School (both located in Krong No District) have been brought under control, with no new cases recorded.

To control and contain the disease outbreak, the Dak Nong Provincial CDC recommends that the health centers of the districts and Gia Nghia City continue to strengthen close monitoring of the conjunctivitis situation in their localities; promptly detect and thoroughly handle conjunctivitis outbreaks, preventing the disease from spreading and prolonging; advise the People's Committees of the districts and Gia Nghia City to strengthen direction and vigorously implement communication, surveillance, and case and outbreak management activities; prepare supplies, chemicals, and equipment to serve the investigation and handling of conjunctivitis outbreaks in their managed areas; and comply with the infectious disease reporting regime, sharing accurate and timely information.
For Dak Nong Provincial General Hospital and district-level medical facilities, it is necessary to organize the examination, detection, consultation, treatment, and ensure hospital infection control in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Health . Update treatment protocols, actively conduct examinations, treatments, consultations, and referrals as prescribed; minimize severe complications related to conjunctivitis; comply with infectious disease reporting regulations and share accurate and timely information.
