| The program provides cash assistance to residents of Ha Giang 2 ward to help them overcome the consequences of natural disasters. |
This support program focuses on households affected by crop damage, small businesses damaged by typhoons No. 10 and 11; individuals including pregnant or breastfeeding women, and women with disabilities. The support is provided in the following forms: multi-purpose cash assistance for households (2.4 million VND per household for two members, 3.5 million VND per household for three or more members), individual cash assistance of 2.5 million VND per woman, and livelihood recovery support of 5 million VND per household.
Accordingly, in Tan Quang commune, Plan provided a total of 587 million VND in support, including: 135 households receiving cash assistance, of which 55 households had two members and 80 households had three or more members; 20 individuals received emergency assistance; and 25 households received livelihood support to restore production, livestock farming, and crop cultivation after the natural disaster. In Ha Giang 2 ward, the total value of support reached 648 million VND, including: 75 households receiving cash assistance, of which 45 households had two members and 30 households had three or more members; 26 individuals received direct support; and 74 households received livelihood support to restore long-term income sources.
This activity is part of the project “Emergency Support for People in Tuyen Quang Province to Overcome the Devastating Effects of Typhoons No. 10 & 11,” funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Humanitarian Assistance Program (AHP-DFAT) through Plan International Vietnam. The project, with a total budget of over 8 billion VND, is a non-refundable grant for post-disaster recovery activities. The project will be implemented over six months, from November 2025 to April 2026, in six communes/wards: Ha Giang 1, Ha Giang 2, Lao Chai, Vi Xuyen, Xin Man, and Tan Quang; supporting over 9,000 people, of whom 55% are women, 7% are people with disabilities, and 58% are children.
