More than 800 artists gathered at the Opening Ceremony of National Tourism Year

The opening art program of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 consists of three chapters with the message "The River's Self-Confession: The Legend of a River; Rivers Converging; The New Flow of Rivers," introducing the tangible and intangible cultural values, resources, and unique tourism products of Vietnam; and at the same time, expressing the spirit of promoting the Hue Festival 2025, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Hue and the rise of Hue city as a centrally-governed city.

This is a spectacular and grandly staged art program featuring the combined performance of over 800 actors, singers, renowned artists, and members of the public, along with international art troupes from China, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Japan. In particular, audiences will be able to admire novel activities such as light shows with drone lights, electronic drums and water fountains, musical fountains, and performances of flying dragons and paragliders.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism, said: "The opening ceremony promises to be not only a typical cultural event but also to give delegates and tourists a profound sense of the cultural beauty of Hue - a sacred land, rich in identity, with warm and hospitable people. Currently, we are rushing to complete the infrastructure of the semi-realistic stage on the banks of the Perfume River with a capacity of about 6,000 people. We also expect the opening ceremony with its spectacular art, sound, and lighting to be a highlight of the National Tourism Year 2025."

The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, themed "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities," will feature activities and events focusing on four main program groups. Specifically, the Spring Festival "Spring in the Ancient Capital," the Summer Festival "The Shining Imperial City," the Autumn Festival "Hue in Autumn," and the Winter Festival "Winter in Hue." The opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 will take place on the evening of March 25th, and the closing ceremony will be at the end of December 2025. Throughout the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 program, there will be 160 national and provincial-level events.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, said: "With the theme 'Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities,' Hue City, as the host city, will strive to showcase Hue's traditional cultural values and tourism products to the public and tourists as much as possible. This is a breakthrough, aiming to develop Hue's tourism and services to match its potential and strengths."
