At noon on July 20th, Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, admitted 9 patients to the emergency room suspected of food poisoning after attending a memorial feast.
The patients, both male and female, aged 54 to 84, all reside in Phong Dinh ward (Hue City).

According to initial information, on the afternoon of July 19th, all the patients attended a local memorial service, with meals prepared by restaurant X.D. (located in Phong Dinh ward).
After the meal, many people developed symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea and were taken to the hospital on the morning of July 20th.
Upon examination, doctors diagnosed nine patients with acute gastroenteritis due to food poisoning. The most severe case was Mrs. NTL (born in 1941), who suffered septic shock and is being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit with slow responsiveness, intermittent abdominal pain, and fatigue. The remaining patients are currently in stable condition.
According to the leadership of Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, the unit has proactively implemented plans to receive and triage patients according to severity to ensure timely treatment. Simultaneously, they have ensured sufficient personnel, medications, and emergency equipment, and are ready to perform advanced techniques such as hemodialysis and ECMO when necessary.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Trinh Duc Nhu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phong Dinh Ward, confirmed that several residents in the area were hospitalized suspected of food poisoning. The ward is currently directing relevant units to collect food samples and cooperate in verifying and clarifying the cause of the incident.
