Mobilizing resources for infrastructure investment creates a strong shift in urban beautification

Infrastructure invested and built by Dong Son ward creates space for civilized urban development.

The Resolution of the 1st Dong Son Ward Party Congress, term 2025-2030, identified "Building urban infrastructure to meet civilized criteria; focusing on renovating and developing urban infrastructure to connect new urban areas with existing residential areas" - as one of the 6 key tasks. "Breakthrough in planning and planning management in a synchronous and modern direction connecting with surrounding areas and urban areas; mobilizing maximum resources for urban infrastructure investment and urban space development" is one of the 3 breakthroughs of the term. From there, it shows the very important role of developing synchronous infrastructure, prioritizing traffic, social infrastructure and commercial - service infrastructure. This is not only a requirement of the reality of managing an expanded administrative unit but also a prerequisite to create new development space, attract investment and improve the quality of life of the people.

In the period of 2020-2025, before merging into Dong Son ward, the communes and wards: Rung Thong, Dong Thinh, Dong Tan, Dong Hoa, Dong Minh, Dong Hoang, Dong Khe, Dong Ninh focused on mobilizing maximum resources, creating a strong step forward in traffic development. In Dong Son ward, 167.2km of roads were solidified, upgraded, and opened, and the drainage system, sidewalks, and lighting on many main routes were completed. Along with that, the Advanced New Rural Development program was vigorously implemented, bringing 91.54km of rural roads to standard, contributing significantly to changing the appearance of residential areas.

The highlight and decisive factor for success is the consensus of the people in donating land and contributing resources to expand and upgrade infrastructure. In the period of 2020-2025, the people of the whole ward voluntarily donated more than 110,000m2 of land, worth nearly 275.4 billion VND. This is a very large number, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and community awareness, thereby helping many roads to be widened from 3 to 5m to 7 to 12m, creating an open, clean and safe space for traffic and daily life.

Together with the internal strength of the people, Dong Son ward has effectively mobilized public investment capital, enterprise capital and support programs of the province and city. Site clearance work has been implemented drastically, cautiously, in compliance with procedures, creating high consensus. In just 5 years, the ward has handed over more than 224 hectares of clean land for 129 projects, including many key projects such as the North-South Expressway, East-West Avenue... The quick, decisive and legal site clearance has contributed to shortening the progress of project implementation, while opening up opportunities for trade - service and industrial development in the area.

Along with traffic investment, the ward pays special attention to upgrading social infrastructure, including 26 newly built, renovated and upgraded schools; the rate of schools meeting national standards increased to 92%. The health system was strengthened when 7 health stations were repaired, invested in equipment, and the capacity for medical examination and treatment and primary health care was improved. The trade and service network developed rapidly with 11 mini supermarkets, a chain of convenience stores and traditional markets operating stably, meeting the increasing consumption needs of people in the context of strong urbanization. Electricity and telecommunications infrastructure was invested synchronously, upgrading power lines and transformer stations with a total capital of nearly 200 billion VND. This not only ensures safe and stable power supply for production and daily life but also creates conditions for trade and service enterprises to expand their operations, gradually forming bustling and modern business streets.

An important driving force for Dong Son's transformation is the serious and systematic implementation of urban planning. The ward has proactively reviewed, established and adjusted many zoning and detailed planning projects in accordance with the new development orientation. Thanks to that, new residential areas, modern urban spatial axes along Provincial Road 517, the bypass and East-West Avenue have been formed, creating a reasonable and synchronous spatial structure, ensuring the connection between existing residential areas and new development areas.

Along with physical infrastructure, digital infrastructure is identified as an important pillar in urban management and operation. Dong Son is one of the localities that completed the digital transformation target early; online public services are widely used in the fields of administration, health, and education . Cashless payments have become popular in businesses and service establishments. The ward is implementing the construction of a smart public administration center, applying software for population management and urban management, initially creating clear efficiency in serving people and businesses.

Not stopping at infrastructure investment, the ward also focuses on urban beautification and building a civilized lifestyle. The main roads are synchronously renovated; the system of trees, signs, drainage, and environmental sanitation is significantly improved. The movement to build "bright - green - clean - beautiful roads" and "model neighborhoods" has developed extensively, raising the rate of model residential areas to 93%. The rate of cultural families reached 87.5%, clearly reflecting the improvement of both the material and spiritual life of the people.

It can be seen that the mobilization of resources for infrastructure investment has created a strong and comprehensive change for Dong Son ward. The urban appearance has changed significantly; traffic, social, electricity - telecommunications and trade - service infrastructure have been upgraded synchronously; urban planning and management have been improved in a modern direction. Promoting the achieved results, Dong Son ward aims to reach civilized urban standards by 2030.
