In Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province, there are currently 37 durian growing areas for export that have been granted growing area codes with a total area of ​​2,053 hectares.


On the afternoon of November 8, the People's Committee of Krong Pac district (Dak Lak province) held a conference to summarize the production and consumption of durian in the 2024 crop year, deploy the plan and tasks for 2025; meet with press agencies and individuals and businesses that have contributed to the production and consumption of durian in Krong Pac district.

According to statistics, in the 2024 crop year, the whole district will have 8,113 hectares of durian (an increase of 956 hectares compared to 2023). Of which, the pure planting area is 1,197 hectares, the intercropping area in coffee gardens is 6,916 hectares.

According to Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pac district, durian trees are playing an important role in the district's fruit production, bringing high economic efficiency to the people. "From an intercropping crop that increases efficiency on the same cultivated land area, it has now become an export commodity, creating the Krong Pac durian brand," Ms. Trinh emphasized. According to Ms. Trinh, the growing area code is considered a "passport" for Vietnamese agricultural products in general, and Krong Pac durian in particular, to reach the international market. "Up to now, in Krong Pac district, there are 37 durian growing areas for export that have been granted growing area codes with a total area of ​​2,053 hectares. Of which, Ea Yong commune has 26 codes with 1,255.3 hectares, Ea Kenh commune has 6 codes with 660 hectares, Ea Knuec commune has 4 codes with 124.6 hectares and Tan Tien commune has 1 code with 12.9 hectares" - Ms. Trinh informed.

The authorities of Dak Lak province have conducted regular inspections and supervision, 37 durian export growing area codes, 13 packaging facilities in Krong Pac district basically ensure the management records, monitoring of cultivation logs, monitoring and preventing harmful organisms as required. According to the 2025 plan, with a total area of ​​9,600 hectares, the estimated output is 106,700 tons. This locality also expects to issue 21 new growing area codes for export with 527.6 hectares.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Krong Pac district commended and rewarded reporters from central and local press agencies; individuals and businesses who have made positive contributions to promoting the Krong Pac durian brand.
