Indonesia supports EU to soon remove IUU yellow card for Vietnam

On the morning of October 27, continuing activities within the framework of his working trip to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The two leaders agreed to consider the upgrade to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as an important milestone, a new step in the development of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia; and agreed to limit the application of technical barriers to each other's goods.

The two sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern. President Prabowo Subianto acknowledged Vietnam's efforts and agreed to support the European Union in soon removing the yellow card for illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fisheries sector and effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on fisheries cooperation signed in 2024, towards jointly developing the fisheries sector and sustainable marine economy./ .
