To concretize Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training" and to realize the Prime Minister's Project No. 1314/QĐ-TTg on "Discovering, nurturing and promoting young Vietnamese talents in the period 2022-2030", the Central Youth Union Council will coordinate with relevant units to implement the Vietnam Children's Chess Tournament for the 2025-2026 school year.

Comprising a series of national-level events, the tournament aims to build a movement of intellectual sports among children, contributing to the development of logical thinking, discipline, and fostering creativity and self-confidence among Vietnamese students.

Intended for students from elementary to middle school, the tournament is expected to become a nationwide intellectual competition.

This activity not only encourages students to develop strategic thinking, perseverance, and concentration skills, but also contributes to discovering and nurturing young talents, gradually forming a modern school chess ecosystem that combines digital transformation and AI technology.

According to the plan, the Vietnam Children's Chess Tournament for the 2025-2026 school year will be implemented in six localities on a pilot basis, aiming to open a new phase of development for the school chess movement; it will consist of three rounds: school level, provincial level, and national final.

The national finals of the tournament are scheduled to take place in Da Lat ( Lam Dong province) in the summer of 2026.

A highlight of this year's tournament is the application of the ChessGPT platform, an artificial intelligence product developed by DUCA Holdings, a science and technology enterprise. This is a pioneering step in bringing modern technology into intellectual sports education, opening up a new and engaging interactive learning model for children.
