Opening of the World Intelligent Community Forum 2025 Global Summit

Attending the summit were comrades: Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City; Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; along with the presence of more than 600 global leaders, urban experts, international developers, technology corporations, research institutes and leading investors.

Hosting the conference not only affirms the position of Ho Chi Minh City, but also marks the city's official inheritance and promotion of the outstanding foreign affairs achievements of Binh Duong province (before the merger), the only locality in Vietnam to have been honored by the World Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as the World Intelligent Community of the Year 2023.

The conference is a golden opportunity for Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to affirm their commitment to smart development, expand their international cooperation network and shape a sustainable economic future. This is also an important forum to promote international cooperation, promote Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam as a strategic investment destination; and open high-level dialogues on sustainable urban development, digital transformation and smart governance.

Taking place over two days, December 2 and 3, with the key theme "Smart and investment-ready - Transforming Vietnam's economy", the World Smart Community Forum 2025 Global Summit revolves around 6 core pillars, including: Digital equality - Knowledge workforce - Innovation - Broadband infrastructure - Sustainability - Community engagement.

During the two-day conference, delegates will have the opportunity to access a treasure trove of global knowledge and experience through many valuable activities. The highlight of the event is the Smart Community of the Year 2025 Announcement Ceremony, where delegates will witness an important moment of honor and directly listen to success stories and valuable lessons from the Top 7 Smart Communities of 2025.

In addition, high-level panel discussions will feature in-depth dialogues, led by the co-founders of the World Smart Community Forum, Robert Bell and John Jung, and featuring leading mayors and innovators from Canada, the United States, Brazil, Turkey, Spain and the Netherlands.

In particular, delegates will participate in strategic discussions to explore practical applications of community development acceleration strategies proven by the World Smart Community Forum, while seeking solutions to enhance urban competitive advantages through building innovative ecosystems and attracting high-quality investment.

In addition, the event also devoted space to delving deeper into the vision of the post-merger megacity of Ho Chi Minh City, outlining opportunities for the city to rise to become the region's leading economic-technological hub.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha delivered the opening speech at the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized: The conference is one of the most important international events of the year, with profound significance for Vietnam and especially valuable for the new development journey of Ho Chi Minh City - the leading urban area in terms of economy, science-technology and innovation of the whole country, nurturing the aspiration to become a global megacity and an international financial center of the region.

The theme of the conference also demonstrates Vietnam's determination to innovate, and is deeply consistent with the development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City in the current period of strong transformation. The working programs within the framework of the conference focus on six core pillars that are completely compatible with the five pillars of digital transformation according to Resolution 57 of the Politburo and Plan 459 of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, including: digital governance, digital infrastructure development, digital culture formation, digital economy promotion and digital society building. This natural compatibility affirms that Ho Chi Minh City is on a path that is in line with the development trend of pioneering smart communities in the world.
