Opening Ceremony of the Photo Exhibition and Award Presentation for the 31st Southeast Region Art Photography Festival 2024

(NADS) - On August 23rd in Tay Ninh , the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, in collaboration with the Tay Ninh Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, organized the Opening Ceremony of the photo exhibition and awarding ceremony of the 31st Southeast Region Art Photography Festival 2024 with the theme "The Country - People of the Southeast Region on the path of integration and development" to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

Attending the ceremony were photographer Le Nguyen – Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Chairman of the Art Council; Mr. Tran Van Chien – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Steering Committee; and leaders of departments and agencies of Tay Ninh province.

Also present were leaders of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, including members of the Executive Committee: Photographic Artist Huynh Anh, Head of the Inspection Committee; Photographic Artist Hong Nga; and Photographic Artist Van Thuong.

After three months of launching, the festival received 1,494 entries, including 121 photo sets and 1,373 individual photos, from 200 photographers and amateur photographers from eight provinces in the Southeast region of Vietnam: Ba ​​Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan , Dong Nai, Lam Dong, and Tay Ninh.

Photographer Lê Nguyễn - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Chairman of the Art Council, and Mr. Trần Văn Chiến - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee, presented the Gold Medal to author Nguyễn Kim Hoàn (Ninh Thuận) for his work "Light of the Future".

Speaking at the ceremony, photographer Le Nguyen - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Chairman of the Art Council - said: "For many years, the 8 cultural and artistic associations in the Southeast region have collaborated and contributed to the success of the Art Photography Festivals. Through this, many artistic works have not only won regional awards but also high prizes in national competitions. This is also an opportunity for photographers to meet, interact, and exchange experiences."

The works submitted to the Festival encompass various genres (landscapes, portraits, daily life, etc.), showcasing the beauty of nature, land, and people in the Eastern region amidst today's vibrant development. These are beautiful moments vividly reflecting achievements in the economic , cultural, social, and national defense and security fields; and concrete examples and models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in each province on the path of reform, integration, and development.

Two team awards were presented to the teams from Tay Ninh province and Ninh Thuan province.

Mr. Tran Van Chien – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – commented that the Southeast Region Art Photography Festival is a practical and meaningful activity, providing an opportunity for photographers in the region to interact, exchange, and learn from each other's experiences in artistic creation, and to honor works that are more accessible to the public. This is also an opportunity for Tay Ninh to promote and introduce the image, art, people, and tourism potential of the province to a large number of photographers, tourists, and people nationwide.

Based on the online judging results of the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 144 works with good ideological and artistic value from 72 authors to advance to the final round, where they will be judged publicly and awarded prizes.

The judging panel selected 13 outstanding works to award prizes, including 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 4 Bronze Medals, and 6 Encouragement Awards. Team awards were given to Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh provinces for having the most entries and winning authors at the Festival. Specifically:

Gold Medal:

- Author: Nguyen Kim Hoan (Ninh Thuan) with the work: The Light of the Future

Silver Medal:

- Author: Le Tan Phat (Tay Ninh) with the work: The Grand Ceremony of the Yaochi Palace Feast – A Beautiful Cultural Feature of the Cao Dai Religion

- Author: Dang Hong Long (Binh Thuan) with the work: Overhaul of Unit S2 - Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant

Bronze:

- Author: Nguyen Huynh Dong (Tay Ninh) with the work: Traditional craft villages in Tay Ninh

- Author: To Cong Vinh (Ninh Thuan) with the work: Kiteboarding

- Author: Nguyen Van Quang (Ninh Thuan) with the work: Returning in the Morning Sunlight

- Author: Tran Duy Tinh (Binh Duong) with the work: SOS for Flood and Storm Relief

Honorable Mention:

- Author: Nguyen Thanh An (Dong Nai) with the work: National key project - Long Thanh International Airport

- Author: Do Tuan Hung (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) with the work: Winning this prize

- Author: Nguyen Ba Hao (Lam Dong) with the work: Inspection and maintenance of the working wheel

- Author: Tran Phuoc Thao (Binh Thuan) with the work: The right way to keep your hands clean.

- Author: Tran Ngoc Thinh (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) with the work: The Colors of the City on the East Sea

- Author: Nguyen Nhat Tuong (Tay Ninh) with the work: Double Happiness
