Attendees included: Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts; Mr. Nguyen Tho Truyen, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van San, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of the Ho Chi Minh City Command; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Film Institute; Ms. Duong Cam Thuy, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Film Association; and various film actors and directors.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Film Institute, affirmed that the Great Victory of Spring 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, has always provided a rich source of inspiration for filmmakers.


The organizers hope that the exhibition will attract and strongly spread to a wide range of people, domestic and foreign tourists the indomitable beauty of the national spirit and the Vietnamese people in the cause of protecting and building the Fatherland, along with the beauty of life and the people of Ho Chi Minh City, which is civilized, modern, and compassionate.
Through this, it contributes effectively to the dissemination and promotion of the historical and cultural values of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular; and at the same time becomes one of the notable highlights of the series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.

People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, also affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City will create favorable and attractive spaces for the program to take place successfully.
The event serves as a bridge between the past and the present, inspiring each citizen with motivation, emotion, and faith, guiding them towards a future where Vietnam rises with strong aspirations. Hopefully, in the near future, Vietnamese films, especially those about the revolutionary war, will continue to inspire emotion and produce truly meaningful works.



The exhibition and film screening program "Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in Cinema" is an event organized by the Vietnam Film Institute in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to widely publicize the significance, scale, and great historical value of the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, which achieved a great victory, liberating the South and unifying the country.
On the other hand, exploiting and disseminating the historical and cultural value of archival film documents and materials through works, clips, images, film footage, etc., to a wide audience aims to awaken and promote the patriotic traditions, revolutionary heroism, and the unwavering determination to fight and win of our nation in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The event consists of two main activities:
The exhibition will showcase approximately 300 photographs, including photo collections from the Vietnam Film Institute and images collected from film production units and related film studios, under two themes: Cinema and historical moments; and Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through the lens of cinema.
The photographs are selected from documentaries, feature films, and archives about the Spring Offensive and Uprising of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign. They also depict film artists working on the battlefields of Southern Vietnam during the resistance war against the US. In addition, there are images of the simple beauty and vibrant, integrated life of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City today.




The film screening program will feature main activities on the evenings of April 27th and 28th at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, including screenings of the films: "The Wild Field ," the documentary "City at Dawn," and a Q&A session with the cast and crew of "Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness ."
Notably, the documentary film Victory Vietnam , recently donated by the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam, was also screened at the event.
In addition, there will be screenings of documentaries: "The Road Ahead," "Some Images of the Liberation of Saigon," and "Saigon Rejoices in Victory" at the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library (69 Ly Tu Trong Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and will continue until May 8th.
Prior to that, from April 18 to 25, the organizers also held film screenings at the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library and the Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
