On the morning of December 12th, Vo Khanh Hung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, stated that the Department of Construction had implemented lane adjustments on the My Phuoc - Tan Van and National Highway 13 routes, initially reporting positive results and receiving public support.

At the same time, the Department of Construction requested Becamex Group – JSC to urgently adjust lane division signs on provincial roads DT.743, Doc Lap, DT.746, DT.747B and other main routes in the Binh Duong Industrial – Service – Urban Complex. Specifically, Lane 1 (closest to the sidewalk) is for motorcycles and 2-3 wheeled vehicles; Lane 2 is for passenger cars, buses with fewer than 25 seats, and trucks under 3.5 tons; Lanes next to the median strip are for all types of cars. Change the solid line between the motorcycle and car lanes to a dashed line; add short median strips of 30-50 m at intersections; and study the possibility of adding left-turn lights for motorcycles. In particular, urgently adjust traffic at the Kim Hang gas station roundabout by dismantling the roundabout and installing traffic islands and traffic lights.
VRG Infrastructure Investment Company Limited is urgently adjusting lane allocation on Provincial Road 741 according to the following structure: Lane 1 for 2-3 wheeled vehicles; Lane 2 for passenger cars, smaller passenger vehicles or 16-seater buses, and buses; Lane 3 for trucks and large vehicles. Solid lines will be changed to dashed lines, median strips will be added, and traffic light adjustments for motorcycles will be studied.

Management boards and infrastructure investors should urgently review and adjust lane allocation on roads with a minimum of 3 lanes in each direction, such as Pham Ngoc Thach Street, the road leading to the former Binh Duong Administrative Center, and routes within industrial zones and clusters. The same lane allocation structure and safety measures as on these routes should be applied.
The Road Infrastructure Management Center will monitor the progress of the units involved. If implementation is not initiated by December 31, 2025, the Center will advise the Department of Construction to assign another unit to carry out the project, to be completed before January 10, 2026. Any adjustments to the costs will be covered by the unit managing the road.
These measures are expected to further improve traffic safety, reduce accidents involving heavy trucks, and raise public awareness of traffic safety.
