Expelled from the Party the former Director of the Department of Labor

On September 8, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of the Politburo and the Secretariat to consider and discipline Mr. Pham Gia Luat (born in 1956, former Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Nam province).

The Secretariat determined that during his tenure as a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Nam province, Mr. Pham Gia Luat had degraded in political ideology, morality and lifestyle; violated Party regulations and State laws, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and responsibilities to set an example in implementing investment projects, managing and using finance, exploiting and consuming mineral resources.

The Politburo assessed that Mr. Pham Gia Luat's violations caused very serious consequences, causing great damage to the state budget, many cadres and party members were criminally prosecuted, causing public outrage, and negatively affecting the reputation of the party organization and state management agencies in the locality.

Therefore, the Secretariat decided to take disciplinary action by expelling Mr. Pham Gia Luat from the Party.

The Secretariat requested competent authorities to take timely administrative discipline, in line with party discipline.

Previously, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Ha Nam Province to collect documents and evidence, and expand the investigation into the case of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences and Abuse of position and power while performing official duties" that occurred in Ha Nam Province from 2010 to 2021.

On August 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police issued a decision to prosecute, an arrest warrant, and a search warrant for Pham Gia Luat for the crime of abusing his position and power while performing official duties.

Regarding this case, previously on April 5, Ha Nam Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam (born in 1965, former Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Nam Province) for the crime of abusing his position and power while performing official duties.

On February 15, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police decided to prosecute and issue an arrest warrant for Mr. Truong Minh Hien (born in 1960, former Vice Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee) and Mr. Vu Huu Song (born in 1959, former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Nam Province) for the crime of lack of responsibility causing serious consequences.
