Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, head of Ha Dong District Police, assessed that Mr. Leng Van Bang disregarded the danger and rushed into the fire to save people, leaving a beautiful image in the hearts of the people.

"After being reminded by the District Police and local authorities, the landlord voluntarily cut the iron cage on the balcony and opened an escape route, so four people were able to escape outside in the fire. When the incident happened, Mr. Leng Van Bang promoted the spirit of saving people above all else and saved the victims," said Colonel Quyen.

Mr. Quyen also said that the Fire Police and Rescue Force rescued three other people in the above incident.

Mr. Bang said he always kept in mind that when doing good deeds, no matter how difficult it is, he must try. "When I rushed into the fire, my only thought was to save people first," Mr. Bang said.

Previously, the fire occurred in the early morning of May 30 in Phu Luong ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi.

The house that caught fire was 3 stories high, a combination of a residential house and a rental house. The fire spread over an area of about 20 square meters . A column of black smoke from the fire rose quickly, engulfing the house.

When he discovered the incident, Leng Van Bang climbed to the roof of the house next to the fire and grabbed onto a lightning-proof wire to climb up. With one hand he held onto the wire and with the other hand he used a rock to break the railing of the third floor of the house. "I hit with all my might to create a gap for the two girls to escape," he said.

After climbing up twice, the man carried the two girls down to the tin roof of the house next door, then other people helped bring them down to the ground safely.

After about 3 minutes of fighting the fire, the police were able to control the fire. Ha Dong District Police said that nine people escaped the fire. Of these, two were rescued by local residents and three were rescued by police.

In addition, four people escaped through the emergency exit to the house next door.
