Pickleball is becoming a popular trend in Vietnam, with a boom in playing fields and tournaments, as well as a rapidly increasing number of players. Although it has only become popular in the last year, this sport possesses a strong appeal due to its accessibility, ease of play, health benefits, stress relief, and suitability for many age groups, especially vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly.

With its strong appeal, pickleball is becoming a magnet, attracting many famous athletes and former athletes from other sports to compete. Among them are football beauty queen Do Thi Ngoc Cham and former volleyball star Pham Thi Kim Hue, who will participate in the pickleball tournament in Hanoi from November 30th to December 1st, titled "Say2 Ladies Pickleball Grand Prix I - 2024: Beautiful Ladies Overcoming Obstacles".

This tournament is organized by Vietnam Sports Solutions Joint Stock Company (VSSG) in collaboration with the Women and Sports Committee (Vietnam Olympic Committee), the Department of Sports and Physical Education, Vietfootball, and the main sponsor Say2, aiming to contribute to the development of the movement, shape the beauty of sports in this new sport, and honor the beauty of women in sports. The organizers also hope that the tournament will be a catalyst to encourage self-confidence, self-love, and enhance the beauty of women.

Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, Le Thi Hoang Yen, affirmed that the appearance of a pickleball tournament for women will encourage women to express themselves, improve their health, and further enhance their role in social life. "Hopefully, the tournament will be exciting, civilized, and contribute to honoring women," Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen emphasized.

The "Say2 Ladies Pickleball Grand Prix - 2024: Beautiful Ladies Overcoming Obstacles" tournament attracted over 200 registered participants across four categories: women's doubles (under 35 years old), women's doubles (36 years and older), women's doubles Open, and women's doubles newbie (including female trainees of female coaches who are professional advisors for the tournament). The competition will take place at the VIBE PICKLEBALL CLUB (Pham Tu Street, The Manor Central Park Urban Area, Hanoi). The total prize pool is 200 million VND.
