Hot air balloon carrying 9 people landed in rice field

On July 7, social media spread images and information about a hot air balloon flying from Son Tay town crashing into a rice field in Ba Vi.

According to information from the leaders of Tay Dang Town People's Committee (Ba Vi), the incident occurred at around 10am on July 6. At that time, a hot air balloon departed from Son Tay carrying 9 people to fly on a sightseeing and tourism promotion trip. When arriving at Tay Dang Commune, Ba Vi, the hot air balloon encountered an accident and had to make an emergency landing.

"There was no hot air balloon crash, but the vehicle landed due to a technical error," informed the leader of Tay Dang town People's Committee.

The incident attracted many curious people to watch.

The landing site is an open field adjacent to Provincial Road 412 in Tay Dang Town. This location is about 10 km away from the starting point by road. Authorities said the vehicle had been granted a flight permit.

"The incident caused no casualties and everyone is safe," said the leader of Tay Dang town People's Committee, adding that after about 30 minutes, the incident was resolved.
