
The meeting was connected online to provinces and cities with important national projects and key works in the transport sector. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also attended the meeting.
Reporting at the meeting, the Ministry of Construction said that so far, ministries, branches and localities have completed 11/28 tasks assigned by the Prime Minister at the 21st meeting. It is expected that by December 19, the whole country will complete and open to traffic 3,513 km of expressways (including 3,188 km of main routes and 325 km of access roads).
At the same time, 1,700 km of coastal roads were completed, and Long Thanh International Airport completed component projects to deploy technical flights. In addition, from 2021 to 2025, the Ministry of Construction completed 59 national highway projects with a total length of 1,586.5 km; in 2025 alone, 21 projects with a length of 456 km were completed.
Regarding the preparation for the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of the projects on December 19, by December 8, the Ministry of Construction had compiled 245 projects and works in 34 provinces and cities, with a total investment of VND 1,345,415 billion.
In Dong Thap province, the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Construction Project Phase 1 has a total length of 27.43 km, a scale of 4 lanes, with a total adjusted investment of nearly 7,500 billion VND.
Of which, Component Project 1, with a length of about 16 km, has completed 100% of the site clearance; Component Project 2, with a length of about 11.43 km, has handed over the main route site at a rate of 100%. To ensure technical requirements, contractors are currently focusing on construction. Component Project 1 will technically open some sections on the route to traffic on December 19.
Concluding the meeting, on behalf of the Government and the Steering Committee, the Prime Minister commended the proactive and active participation of the Steering Committee members, ministries, branches, localities, investors, project management boards, contractors, etc., who have made efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges caused by recent natural disasters and historic storms and floods; and thanked the people for their consensus, support and assistance in implementing projects and works.
This helps ensure progress and improve the quality of important national and key projects, contributing to public investment disbursement, creating jobs for people and businesses, promoting economic growth, creating new development space, reducing transportation costs and travel time, etc.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that with a more rapid and bold spirit, ministries, branches, localities, investors, management boards, and contractors focus highly, proactively, and actively lead, direct, urge, inspect, and handle difficulties and problems related to site clearance, construction materials, etc. in the fastest, most timely, and most effective way.
