According to representatives from the Department of Tourism , the Hue International Tea Festival 2025 is a large-scale event series aimed at local residents and domestic and international tourists visiting Hue city; tea, herbal, and food producers from Vietnam and internationally; tea artisans, baristas (experts in preparing coffee and non-alcoholic beverages), beverage makers, brand founders, and beverage trainees.

Over the three days of the event (October 31 - November 2, 2025), many exciting activities will be organized. Along with the opening ceremony of the Hue International Tea Festival 2025, the organizers announced a tea culture exchange and discussion forum: Presentations, tea talks, and tea tasting demonstrations illustrating the themes of “The Art of Tea Appreciation in Vietnamese and Asian Culture” and “Trends in Tea Creativity Among Young People and the Culinary Industry”. The event, held at Truong Sanh Palace - Hue Imperial Citadel (enter through Hoa Binh Gate - Dang Thai Than Street), will bring together innovative tea production and brand businesses (Teapresso, Teart, herbal teas, etc.). In addition, speakers including tea researchers and tea ceremony artisans from Vietnam and other countries will participate, sharing interesting information.

The event will include an exhibition space showcasing tea, tea products, and accompanying food items; and a tea tasting area. According to the organizers, approximately 25 booths are expected, featuring tea, herbal, and food-related producers from Vietnam and internationally.

The highlight that makes the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 more attractive is the Teatender competition - modern tea mixing. The leader of the Department of Tourism said that the activity not only creates a place to connect, preserve and honor the cultural values ​​of Vietnamese tea drinking and the international community of tea-drinking countries, but also inspires creativity and modernization of Vietnamese tea in urban life; connecting artisans, baristas, and creators in the F&B field. In particular, through the competition, Truoi - Hue specialty will be promoted as a new specialty of contemporary Vietnamese tea. The competition includes 3 rounds, in which the preliminary round took place through video submission from September 30 to October 20, 2025, while the preliminary and final rounds will be competed live during the festival. “The highlight of the final round is that the contestants will compete in the theme “Trội Tea - New Creation on Heritage”, creating a new drink using Truội tea - a Hue specialty; combining a suitable side dish (can be a cake, a savory dish, a vegetarian dish...). In addition, the contestants will present a story connecting culture, personal inspiration and the reason for combining the side dish”, said a representative of the Department of Tourism.

In the series of activities of the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025, international tea houses - tea artists, tea art brands and creative tea will perform tea art and exchange activities of units, tea making performances combined with storytelling; traditional tea ceremony performances of countries. The special thing is that tourists looking for cultural - spiritual experiences, who like to learn about tea can immerse themselves in the program "Tea for the mind: Tea stories, conversations" (at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center, 15 Le Loi, Hue City), to listen to stories about tea, tea culture and spread a slow, profound and inner-rich lifestyle as a "healing" journey.

Aiming to become a regular, specialized activity

According to the leader of the Department of Tourism, the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 is carried out with close coordination between departments, branches, sectors, tourism service businesses in Hue city, domestically and internationally for synchronous implementation. Ensuring the professionalism and effectiveness of experiential activities within the framework of the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 is the basis for building the event into a special activity that is regularly and periodically deployed every year. "In 2025, Hue City will host the National Tourism Year with many events and activities. We hope that, in addition to organizing events and programs well, the tourism industry, together with units and businesses, will complete the set of typical tourism products of Hue", Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram shared.

Tea-drinking culture is a beautiful tradition of the Vietnamese people in general, and Hue in particular.

With the participation of many experts, artisans, and those deeply involved in the tea industry, this is an opportunity to honor the cultural values ​​of Vietnamese tea – connecting and opening up cultural dialogue between artisans, tea houses, and brands from China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam. From there, it aims to revitalize the Vietnamese tea industry, introduce traditional and innovative tea products, and contribute to promoting local tourism and trade.

Mr. Vo Hoang Lien Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Tourism, said that the activities in the program series are all aimed at creating a cultural tourism space that blends tradition and contemporary, Vietnamese identity and international quintessence, while spreading the slow lifestyle, tea meditation and "Zen spirit" in the midst of modern life, thereby building new tourism products (health care tourism following the Tea & Wellness model) to bring visitors more attractive new experiences during their visit and exploration of Hue, especially during the unfavorable weather of the rainy season, expanding the influence of Hue tourism to the general public.

And from tea talks to creative booths, from artisans' hands to tourists' joy, all contribute to reviving new vitality for the Vietnamese tea industry - a journey of harmony between culture, creativity and tourism, as rich as the flavor of Hue tea, becoming an opportunity for Hue to have more attractive tourism products.
