Launching the national walking program "Moving forward with Vietnam"

On the afternoon of August 11, in Hanoi, Nhan Dan Newspaper coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to hold a press conference to announce the national walking activity "Forwarding with Vietnam" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

"Walking Forward with Vietnam" is a community activity of unprecedented scale and significance, taking place at a crucial moment as the entire country enters a new phase of development along with the reorganization of administrative units. For the first time, a walking event is being held simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities, encompassing 3,321 communes, wards, and special administrative zones nationwide.

Overview of the press conference

From July 25th to August 16th, 2025, people nationwide can register online at the official portal: cungvietnamtienbuoc.nhandan.vn and begin recording their steps to contribute to the journey of "1 billion steps into a new era" - a practical activity demonstrating patriotism, reducing carbon emissions, and working towards the nation's Net Zero (zero emissions) goal.

Specifically, from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM on August 16, 2025, participants nationwide will wear red shirts with yellow stars, turn towards the historic Ba Dinh Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony, sing the national anthem in unison, and march forward for a united, strong, and sustainable Vietnam.

The event will take place from July 25th to August 16th, 2025.

This is not only a sporting event in response to the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh" and the "Healthy to Build and Defend the Fatherland" movement, but also a journey of millions of hearts beating in unison – a gathering place for all generations and all strata of people from the central to local levels, from cities to rural areas, mountainous regions, and remote areas.
