The documentary film project on sustainable development is a collaboration between civil society organizations in Vietnam and documentary filmmakers, and is expected to be implemented in 2023-2024.
The Sustainable Development Documentary Film Production Project is a collaborative effort to contribute to the goals of biodiversity conservation; poverty eradication and women's rights protection; and waste management.

The three NGOs involved in this project – GreenViet, the Center for Rural Economic Development (CRED), and the Green Development Support Center (GreenHub) – are seeking a film crew. They are eager to tell their stories and express themselves through documentary films.
Filmmakers are encouraged to bring their best knowledge and skills and use materials provided by social organizations to create works that contribute to promoting society's achievement of global sustainability goals, and are encouraged to produce films that can attract international attention at documentary film festivals held in Vietnam.
In 2023-2024, the project's themes focused on biodiversity conservation, action against poverty and women's rights, and waste management.
The Goethe Institute and the Center for the Development of Film Talent (TPD) will jointly support film production in the project, co-organizing two workshops with German documentary filmmakers to exchange experiences and enhance skills in creative storytelling and filmmaking.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of GreenViet, shared: "The project will contribute to raising community awareness about the value and importance of conserving the gray-footed langur in particular and biodiversity in general."
At the same time, the project also fosters a love for nature, a sense of responsibility, and a willingness to work together in conserving biodiversity in Vietnam."
Ms. Thai Huyen Nga, Communications Officer of CRED, emphasized: “Through the film, the domestic and international communities can better understand the projects that non-profit organizations are undertaking, which are sustainable development projects that ‘give you a fishing rod and fishing techniques, not just the fish’.”
