The location chosen by the team for surveying and setting the scene was the Ham Ho Rosa Alba eco -tourism area (Binh Phu commune, Gia Lai province). The choice of Ham Ho was not random, as this eco-tourism area is located near the Vo Van Dung Grand Tutor Temple, the Quang Trung Museum, and is an important historical site, having been one of the bases of the Tay Son rebels in the early days of their reign.

According to the film crew, recreating the scenes right in the "cradle" of the Tay Son peasant movement will help to convey the most authentic historical spirit of this martial arts land.
In addition to the main film set built at the Ham Ho Rosa Alba eco-tourism area, some scenes for the film "Tay Son Seven Tiger Generals" will also be filmed at the Quang Trung Museum, the Temple of Grand Tutor Vo Van Dung, and other locations in Tay Son, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue City.

Director Vo Duc shared: “We want to bring you the most authentic and vivid footage possible. Setting up the film set at the very location where the historical events of the Tay Son peasant movement took place is part of our commitment to quality and respect for history.”

The project, originally planned as a web drama, has officially been upgraded to a feature film for theatrical release. The first part of the series, titled "The Southern Archer Ly Van Buu ," focuses on portraying General Ly Van Buu, famous for his horse training skills and his unerring archery ability.
Currently, the pre-production stages are being completed urgently by the film crew. The film set at Ham Ho is expected to recreate part of the atmosphere of the rebel army's headquarters, serving as a backdrop for large-scale scenes.

Mr. Phan Phuc, the film project advisor, said: Part one of the film "Tay Son Seven Tiger Generals," filmed in the martial arts land of Tay Son, will feature horses and some actors from the Vietnam Equestrian and Archery Club from Hanoi participating in the action scenes.
"During the filming process, we will also hold interactive sessions for locals and tourists to experience the film set, contributing to promoting cultural tourism of our homeland," Mr. Phuc affirmed.

The film project "The Seven Tiger Generals of Tay Son" is scheduled to officially begin filming at the end of December 2025. This is a passion project that has been nurtured for many years by three sons of the martial arts land who are now working in Ho Chi Minh City: Phan Phuc, Do Khoi, and Vo Duc.

With its historical theme, the film project "Tay Son Seven Tiger Generals" will recreate a part of the national spirit, portraying the portraits of seven famous generals in the Tay Son peasant movement: Vo Van Dung, Vo Dinh Tu, Tran Quang Dieu, Nguyen Van Tuyet, Le Van Hung, Ly Van Buu, and Nguyen Van Loc, who followed the Tay Son Three Heroes in their uprising, achieving many victories and making important contributions to the Tay Son dynasty, leaving their names in history.
