Construction of the film set 'Tay Son That Ho Tuong' begins

(GLO)-Right after completing the casting (selection of actors) in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the film crew of "Tay Son That Ho Tuong" moved to the martial arts land of Tay Son to survey and build the film set.

The location chosen by the crew to survey and set the scene is the Ham Ho Rosa Alba eco -tourism area (Binh Phu commune, Gia Lai province). The choice of Ham Ho is not random, because this eco-tourism area is located near the relics of the Temple of Grand Tutor Vo Van Dung, the Quang Trung Museum and is an important historical site, once one of the bases of the Tay Son insurgents in the early days of their career.

According to the film crew, recreating the scenes right at the "cradle" of the Tay Son peasant movement will help convey the most authentically glorious historical spirit of the martial arts land.

In addition to the main set built at the Ham Ho Rosa Alba eco-tourism area, some scenes of the film Tay Son That Ho Tuong will also be filmed at the Quang Trung Museum, the Temple of Grand Tutor Vo Van Dung and several other locations in Tay Son, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue City.

Director Vo Duc shared: “We want to bring the most realistic and vivid footage. Setting up the film set at the exact place where the historical events of the Tay Son peasant movement took place is part of our commitment to quality and respect for history.”

The Tay Son That Ho Tuong project, originally planned as a web drama, has officially been upgraded to a theatrical film project. The first part of the series, titled Ky Nam Archer Ly Van Buu , focuses on portraying the portrait of General Ly Van Buu, famous for his horse training skills and his ability to shoot an archery with a hundred shots and a hundred hits.

Currently, the pre-production stages are being rushed to completion by the film project crew. The film set at Ham Ho is expected to recreate part of the atmosphere of the rebel army headquarters, serving the large-scale scenes.

Mr. Phan Phuc, Film Project Consultant, said: Part one of the film Tay Son That Ho Tuong was filmed in Tay Son martial arts land and will have horses and some actors from the Vietnam Cavalry Club from Hanoi participating in action scenes in the film.

"During filming, we will also hold meetings for locals and tourists to experience the film set, contributing to promoting cultural tourism in our homeland," Mr. Phuc affirmed.

The film project Tay Son That Ho Tuong is expected to officially start filming at the end of December 2025. This is a passionate project that has been nurtured for many years by 3 sons of the martial arts land who are currently working in Ho Chi Minh City, including: Phan Phuc, Do Khoi and Vo Duc.

With the theme of historical films, the film project Tay Son That Ho Tuong will recreate a part of the national spirit, portraying the portraits of 7 famous generals in the Tay Son peasant movement including: Vo Van Dung, Vo Dinh Tu, Tran Quang Dieu, Nguyen Van Tuyet, Le Van Hung, Ly Van Buu, Nguyen Van Loc who followed the Tay Son three heroes in the uprising, establishing many important achievements that contributed to the Tay Son dynasty's name in history.
