Football competition kicks off at the 2024 Hanoi Journalists Association Health Festival

(CLO) On October 30, football - the first competition of the 29th Hanoi Journalists Association Sports Festival in 2024 - kicked off.

The 2024 Hanoi Journalists Association Sports Festival is expected to open on November 1 with sports familiar to journalists in the capital such as football, table tennis, badminton, tug of war, walking, and chess. Of which, football is the earliest competition of the Sports Festival.

At this year's Sports Festival, there are 4 teams competing in football including Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Economic & Urban Newspaper, Hanoi Radio and Television Station, Hanoi Moi Newspaper Printing Company Limited. The number of teams participating in this year's tournament is consistent with the Sports Festival's competition schedule as well as ensuring professional quality, promoting exchanges between teams.

The opening ceremony of the football event of the Health Festival took place on the morning of October 30 at the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Hoan Kiem District. At the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association Kieu Thanh Hung emphasized that football is a traditional sport in the competition program of the expanded Hanoi Journalists Association Health Festival. Through the tournament, units have the opportunity to exchange and promote their sports training movement. This year, the tournament continues to receive support from the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Hoan Kiem District.

In this year's tournament, the teams compete in a knockout round to select the two teams to enter the final, the two losing teams receive third place.
