On October 25, information spread on social media that a male student at Tan Tuc High School had placed a hidden camera in the girls' restroom. The school's Board of Directors coordinated with the District Police to verify and clarify the incident.

On the evening of October 25, Binh Chanh District Police announced the results of the initial investigation and verification, as follows:

On the afternoon of October 23, 2024, male student NQH, grade 12, Tan Tuc High School, used his phone to secretly film a female classmate in grade 11. When he went down to the school cafeteria, the female classmate discovered it and asked him to delete it, but NQH showed no interest. This classmate reported it to his classmate named D.K. D.K came to beat him and asked NQH to delete the clip in front of him. When the fight broke out, the school's Board of Directors invited NQH's family and D.K to the school to work. NQH wrote a statement admitting his mistake for secretly filming his classmate. D.K wrote a statement admitting his mistake for beating his classmate.

However, on the same evening, many public groups and fake accounts appeared on Facebook surrounding the information that NQH secretly filmed female students at Tan Tuc High School by installing hidden cameras in the girls' restroom. The information caused confusion among teachers, students, and parents.

Binh Chanh District Police coordinated with the school's Board of Directors to quickly work with the students involved in the public opinion about installing this hidden camera (with the presence of the students' parents). At the same time, they simultaneously checked all the restrooms. Result: no hidden cameras were discovered. NQH himself affirmed that he did not secretly film female students in the restroom. Through checking NQH's phone, he also did not discover any offensive images as posted on social networks.

The incident caused concern for parents, students and society. From the above incident, many false rumors spread, such as NQH was transferred to a neighboring school. This information is completely fabricated because he is currently studying at Tan Tuc High School.

Binh Chanh District Police have worked with the school's Board of Directors to instruct homeroom teachers to organize class activities to stabilize students' psychology. At the same time, the District Police asked parents to stay calm, encourage students to study with peace of mind, and post information carefully and with verification when using social networks. Any acts of fabrication, slander, or posting false information will be handled according to the law.

Previously, not only students but also many parents were worried because they did not know when the hidden camera was placed in the bathroom, what it had recorded, and whether those images had been released to the outside.

Binh Chanh High School does not accept any students transferring from Tan Tuc High School.

Currently, information is spreading on social networks that the person who installed the hidden camera is a male student at Tan Tuc High School. This male student installed the camera many times in the past two years, and not only at the school but also at neighboring schools.

Many sensitive videos have been spread on the Telegram application and the male student is asking to transfer schools. This information is unverified and is causing confusion among the public.

Faced with such information, on October 25, Binh Chanh High School (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) issued a notice confirming that it has not accepted any students transferred from Tan Tuc High School up to this point.

If students commit acts such as placing listening devices, secretly recording videos in any area of the school; using prohibited goods, buying, selling, or storing illegal items; intentionally causing aggression, fighting, or causing mental or physical harm to staff, teachers, employees, or students; bringing weapons, objects that cause injury, fire, explosion, or affect public health into the school; or bringing obscene cultural products into the school... they will be forced to permanently expel students and the police will be asked to intervene and handle the case.
