Accordingly, agricultural production activities in the province are taking place according to plan, the consumption of agricultural and aquatic products is favorable, especially focusing on achieving success in the Autumn-Winter rice crop, continuing to develop key fruit growing areas. By the end of 2024, the total mango growing area is expected to be 14,754 hectares, equivalent to the production value of the mango industry reaching 2,526 billion VND.

Purchasing power increased significantly compared to the same period last year, total retail sales of goods and services in October were estimated at VND 12,115 billion, up 1.5% over the previous month and up 14.8% over the same period. In the first 10 months of 2024, 538 new enterprises were established, with a total registered capital of VND 3,893 billion, reaching nearly 83% of the plan. Public investment projects were focused on implementation from the beginning of the year, especially key traffic projects; detailed capital allocation was urgently implemented and disbursement reached nearly 55.64% of the total capital plan. State budget management and operation were ensured according to regulations. By October 15, state budget revenue in the province reached VND 7,119 billion, reaching 73.6% of the annual estimate (14.8% higher than the same period in 2023).

By the end of the year, the export turnover of goods will reach 1,700 million USD, up 30.74% over 2023, reaching 121.43% of the plan.
Speaking at the recent meeting to assess the socio-economic development situation in the first 10 months of the year and discuss solutions to achieve the plan for the last 2 months of 2024, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia said that implementing socio-economic development in Dong Thap province in the first months of the year had many difficulties and challenges, but with the spirit of solidarity, determination and consensus of enterprises, the province has developed many solutions and appropriate orientations to bring a number of socio-economic targets in 2024 to the target. However, there are still some targets facing difficulties.
