The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has just decided to convene the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, which will open on October 23, 2023 and is expected to close on November 29, 2023.
This session will be conducted in two phases: phase 1 from October 23 to November 10, 2023; phase 2 from November 20 to November 29, 2023.
First National Conference on the Implementation of Laws and Resolutions of the 15th National Assembly.
According to the planned agenda, regarding legislative work, this session of the National Assembly will consider and approve 9 draft laws and 2 draft resolutions, including: the Land Law (amended); the Real Estate Business Law (amended); the Housing Law (amended); the Water Resources Law (amended); the Telecommunications Law (amended); the Law on Management and Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones; the Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level; the Citizen Identification Law (amended); the Law on Credit Institutions (amended); a Resolution on the application of supplementary corporate income tax under the global anti-base erosion policy; and a Resolution on the pilot application of investment support policies in the high-tech sector.
The 4th Conference of Full-Time National Assembly Deputies, 15th Term, discussed several draft laws to be submitted to the National Assembly at its 6th Session.
The National Assembly will also give its first opinion on eight draft laws: the Law on Social Insurance (amended); the Law on Archives (amended); the Law on National Defense, Security and Industrial Mobilization; the Law on Roads; the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; the Law on the Capital City (amended); the Law on the Organization of People's Courts (amended); and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Auctioning Assets.
As a mid-term session, the National Assembly will consider mid-term review reports on the results of implementing the 5-year plans for the period 2021-2025 on socio- economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and public borrowing and debt repayment.
The 26th session of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly discussed the content and agenda of the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly.
In particular, the National Assembly will conduct a vote of confidence for those holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly.
Accordingly, the National Assembly will hold a vote of confidence for those holding the following positions: President, Vice President; Speaker of the National Assembly, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Council, Chairmen of the National Assembly Committees; Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Auditor General.
As the final regular session of the year, the National Assembly will consider and decide on important issues such as: evaluating the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget for 2023, and considering and deciding on the socio-economic development plan, the state budget estimate, and the central budget allocation plan for 2024.

The National Assembly also considered reports on judicial work by the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy; and reports from the Government on: anti-corruption efforts, crime prevention and control, and enforcement of judgments in 2023. In addition, it considered and decided on important issues such as: adjusting some contents of Resolution 53/2017/QH14 dated November 24, 2017, of the National Assembly on the feasibility study report for the land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement project for Long Thanh International Airport; ratifying the Agreement on the Delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone between Vietnam and Indonesia; the National Maritime Spatial Planning; and several other important issues.
As usual, the National Assembly will allocate sufficient time for questioning and answering questions; reviewing and summarizing the opinions and recommendations of voters and the people submitted to the 6th Session; the results of monitoring the resolution of voter recommendations submitted to the 5th Session; the results of citizen reception, handling of petitions, and resolution of complaints and denunciations in 2023; and the results of reviewing the system of legal documents as stipulated in Resolution No. 101/2023/QH15 on the 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly. In addition, the National Assembly will address many other important issues.
