On September 17, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh co-chaired a conference between the National Assembly Party Delegation and the Government Party Personnel Committee on the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Speaking at the conference, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the 8th Session is expected to have the largest volume of work submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision since the beginning of the 15th term.

The 8th session of the 15th National Assembly will open on October 21, 2024 and is expected to close on the morning of December 3, 2024. The session will be held in two phases: phase 1 from October 21 to November 12, 2024; phase 2 from November 20 to December 3, 2024.
The National Assembly will consider 39 contents, including 29 contents on legislative work, 10 groups of contents on socio-economy, state budget, supervision, personnel and decide on other important issues within its authority.
In the current context, the National Assembly Chairman especially noted that the recent storm No. 3 had very complicated developments, left behind very severe consequences, and up to this point, the full extent of the damage has not been fully calculated.

The Government must face additional difficulties and pressures in budget collection and expenditure, achieving growth targets, ensuring macroeconomic stability of the economy, controlling inflation and price increases to ensure people's livelihood.

Considering that the time to implement the 5-year socio-economic plan is only over 1 year away, and the impact of storm No. 3 is very severe, the National Assembly Chairman requested that it is necessary to promptly handle arising difficulties and problems.
The Government will decide on any issues that are beyond the Government's authority. The National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly will be consulted for any issues that are beyond the Government's authority.
"The quality of a law or resolution must first come from the drafting agency, the appraisal agency and the Government.
When the Government submits it here, the responsibility of the review agencies, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, and the Chairman of the National Assembly must work continuously, ensuring smooth and substantive coordination to achieve the highest efficiency," the Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized.
The National Assembly Chairman also noted that the heads of ministries and branches need to follow through with draft laws and resolutions.
Regarding this content, the National Assembly Chairman noted that it is necessary to change the mindset and approach in law-making, ensure simplification, increase decentralization, accelerate progress... so that the work that is not unified or has not been agreed upon between the reviewing and drafting agencies will be carried out in the spirit of "however difficult it is, we will solve it".
