Celebrating the 78th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945)

On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

To this day, with the country's tremendous achievements, the documents of the 13th National Congress of the Party have affirmed: "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today." Joining the whole country in joyfully celebrating the 78th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and with the immortal spirit of September 2nd, Binh Thuan will continue to move forward steadily.

On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The Declaration of Independence includes the passage: “Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence and has truly become a free and independent nation…”. Along with the rest of the country, the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Thuan province celebrate the 78th anniversary of National Independence Day as the province conducts a mid-term review of the 2020-2025 term with proud achievements, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges. A notable result is the significant and relatively comprehensive progress made in the socio-economic, defense, and security sectors, creating initial positive changes in social life. Accordingly, the average growth rate of the provincial gross domestic product (GRDP) for the 2021-2023 period is estimated at 5.76% per year. The economic structure is shifting in the right direction. Budget revenue as a percentage of GRDP reached 13.41% in 2021 and 11.41% in 2022. Economic sectors developed relatively evenly, with many of the province's potential advantages being exploited, utilized, and effectively promoted. In particular, the industrial and handicraft sectors are developing rapidly. The service and tourism sectors quickly recovered and developed impressively after the Covid-19 pandemic, creating many high-quality and innovative products and services to attract tourists. Notably, in 2023, Binh Thuan hosted the National Tourism Year with the theme "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence." This is an opportunity for Binh Thuan to prepare for a wave of investment with strategic, large-scale projects, as well as confidently conquer higher goals to lay a solid foundation for breakthroughs in attracting investment and development. Regarding agriculture, the province continues to promote crop restructuring to suit its advantages and market demands. The formation of large-scale agricultural production zones, applying high technology and linking production and consumption along the value chain, is underway. Simultaneously, the development of organic agriculture, applying high technology and building value chains, is being promoted. More resources for development investment continue to be mobilized, and investment in essential infrastructure is being accelerated, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Efforts to remove obstacles, support businesses, and promote and attract investment are yielding increasingly positive results. Scientific and technological activities, healthcare, education, culture, and information and communication are showing clear progress. Resource management, disaster prevention, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection are receiving focused attention. Administrative reform is becoming increasingly effective; the handling of complaints and denunciations, and the fight against corruption are being intensified. National defense is being strengthened, and security is being maintained. In particular, building a prosperous and happy life for the people is the goal and long-term strategy of the Provincial Party Committee. Party building and mass mobilization work have achieved quite comprehensive results. One of the highlights in the first half of the term was the province's guidance and organization of a political activity campaign with the theme "Keeping the Party Member's Oath" at all levels of Party committees, Party organizations, leading and managing cadres at all levels, and Party members throughout the province. Through this political activity campaign, each individual gained a fuller and deeper understanding of the honor, pride, and responsibility of a cadre and Party member regarding the oath before the Party flag, the promise to the organization and the people, contributing to raising self-awareness in self-cultivation, self-reflection, self-correction, and preventing ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" among cadres and Party members; building a cleaner and stronger Party and political system. The study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style continue to be widely implemented and spread throughout society, with an increasing number of exemplary models and advanced examples emerging in various fields…

To propel Binh Thuan forward, the Provincial Party Secretary called on every cadre, Party member, and civil servant to strive, overcome difficulties, and maximize their sense of responsibility to contribute to the construction and development of the province: “In any task, no matter how difficult, if each cadre and civil servant strives, is determined, finds appropriate solutions, and puts the interests of the province and its people first, then the task will succeed. Currently, the Politburo has a policy to encourage and protect dynamic, creative cadres who dare to think and act for the common good. I request that all levels, sectors, and cadres and Party members apply this policy to promote the development of the province.”

Seventy-eight years have passed since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. Under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese nation has achieved one victory after another. From the victories against the two powerful imperialist powers, France and the United States, in the two wars of resistance, to the achievements in the post-war defense and reconstruction of the country, especially the great achievements of more than 35 years of reform… The will of the Party and the aspirations of the people have created a combined strength, guiding the Vietnamese revolutionary ship through countless difficulties to sail the open sea, affirming Vietnam's increasingly high position on the international stage. Along with the rest of the country, today, September 2, 2023, the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Thuan province celebrate the 78th anniversary of the National Day with proud achievements, despite the numerous challenges the province is currently facing. This is an affirmation from the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Thuan: "Binh Thuan is steadily moving forward with the immortal spirit of September 2nd."
