The opening ceremony of the 2023 Cau Ngu Festival will take place on the evening of August 5, 2023 (June 19 of the lunar calendar) and the main ceremony will start from August 6 - 8, 2023 (June 20 - 22 of the lunar calendar) at Van Thuy Tu (Duc Thang ward, Phan Thiet city).

Specifically, according to the plan issued by the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City, the ceremony will take place at Dinh Van Thuy Tu, the route from Hon Lao to Con Cha port will be paraded on Ca Ty River and along Pham Van Dong, Ba Trieu Street to Duc Thanh Relic Site to pay respect to Uncle Ho and report his achievements; along Trung Nhi, Trung Trac, Ngu Ong Street to return to Van Thuy Tu. After welcoming him back, the Van Thuy Tu Worship Committee will conduct the first-mentioned ceremony, the death anniversary ceremony and the spirit worship ceremony at Dinh Van Thuy Tu, praying for national peace and prosperity, and abundant crops. Next is the lantern launching ceremony on Ca Ty River.

The festival takes place on Trung Trac Street, from Tran Hung Dao Bridge to Phan Thiet Fishing Port and on Ca Ty River. There are fairs, exhibitions, food stalls introducing fresh and dried seafood specialties, fish sauce, handicraft souvenirs; specialty green rice cakes and Phan Thiet culinary culture; trade stalls for household, industrial and agricultural products... In addition, there is a Bai Choi singing festival, some folk art games of Ngu Quang fishermen. The opening ceremony includes a performance of Hat Boi, mass art praising "The Country and People of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan "; a program of Don Ca Tai Tu; art performances by the Bien Xanh Music and Dance Theater, Phan Thiet City Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism; lion and dragon dances...

On that basis, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City requested relevant departments, agencies, organizations and wards and communes to develop plans, programs and contents for performing the rituals according to traditional customs. Assign forces to ensure security and order in the festival area, arrange ships and boats (if any) for tourists who want to go to the sea to visit the Ong Sanh procession, pay attention to ensuring the conditions for waterway traffic safety and must be permitted by competent authorities.

At the same time, develop a plan to prevent and fight fires and explosions, ensure security and order, and absolute safety for people and tourists when participating. Organize traffic flow and routes to avoid traffic congestion. Arrange fishermen's boats to anchor in the right places to ensure that festival activities take place on the Ca Ty River as planned. In addition, step up propaganda, ensure environmental sanitation before, during and immediately after the end of the festival...
