(NLĐO) - On the evening of February 6th, in Hanoi, the North Korean Embassy in Vietnam held a reception to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and North Korea.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, Ambassador of North Korea to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk, and representatives from various ministries, agencies, and Vietnamese friendship organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that in the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (January 31, 1950 - January 31, 2025), the traditional friendship between the two Parties and peoples, personally built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, has overcome many difficulties, challenges, and historical ups and downs, and has been inherited and continuously strengthened through generations of leaders of the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed Vietnam's readiness to work with the Party, Government, and people of North Korea to further develop the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially during the Vietnam-North Korea Friendship Year in 2025, thereby making a practical contribution to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
North Korean Ambassador Ri Sung Guk stated that the establishment of diplomatic relations between North Korea and Vietnam on January 31, 1950, marked a historic milestone, signifying the beginning of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. The Ambassador expressed his delight at the positive development of bilateral relations over the past 75 years; affirming that North Korea will continue its efforts to further strengthen and develop friendship and cooperation in many fields with Vietnam in the future.

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk wished the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam continued success in building a prosperous and civilized socialist Vietnam.
Earlier, on January 31st, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong exchanged congratulatory messages with General Secretary and Chairman of the State Council of North Korea Kim Jong Un; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh exchanged congratulatory messages with Prime Minister of the Cabinet of North Korea Pak Thae Song; and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man exchanged congratulatory messages with Chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea Pak In Chol.
Congratulatory messages from Vietnamese leaders to North Korean leaders affirm that, over the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and North Korea, personally built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and diligently nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries, has continuously developed. The Party, State, and people of Vietnam always value and wish to promote stronger and more substantive cooperation with North Korea in many fields, in line with the aspirations of the people of both countries and the international commitments of each country, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. They also expressed confidence that both sides will coordinate effectively in commemorating the "Vietnam-North Korea Friendship Year 2025" with meaningful exchanges and cooperation activities.
The congratulatory message from the North Korean leader to the Vietnamese leader emphasized that the decision of North Korea and Vietnam to designate 2025 as the "Year of Friendship" is in line with the common orientation and aspirations of the people of both countries; it expressed firm belief that the long-standing friendship and cooperation between North Korea and Vietnam will continue to be strengthened and developed, thereby strongly encouraging and promoting the socialist cause of both countries.
On this occasion, Party Central Committee Secretary and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department Le Hoai Trung exchanged congratulatory messages with Kim Song Nam, Alternate Member of the Politburo and Head of the International Department of the Workers' Party of Korea; and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son exchanged congratulatory messages with Choe Son Hui, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea.
