After two matches in Group C of the men's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games, both U22 Indonesia and U22 Myanmar have yet to earn any points. Previously, U22 Philippines had won both of their matches and were leading the group.
However, both teams still have a chance to qualify for the SEA Games 33 semi-finals as the best-performing second-placed team.
For U22 Myanmar, they need to beat U22 Indonesia by a margin of 4 goals or more to secure a wildcard spot in the next round.
On the other hand, the conditions for the Indonesian team are more lenient than those for Myanmar.
Specifically, the Indonesian U22 team needs to win by more than 3 goals to become the best-performing second-placed team in the SEA Games 33, thereby advancing to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, U22 Malaysia will advance if both U22 Indonesia and Myanmar draw, or if one of the two teams wins by a minimal margin.
Therefore, both the U22 Indonesia and U22 Myanmar teams will enter the match at 6 PM on December 12th with the highest determination to achieve their respective goals.
The men's football tournament at the 33rd SEA Games features 9 teams, divided into 3 groups. Group A includes Thailand, Timor Leste, and Singapore. Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos are in Group B. Group C includes U22 Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
After the group stage concludes, the top three teams and the best-performing second-placed team will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will take place on December 15th, while the final will be held on December 18th.
