On February 10th, from early morning, thousands of visitors from all over flocked to the Lim Festival to celebrate the spring festival and enjoy the Quan Ho folk songs.
The 2025 Lim Festival will be held over two days, February 9th and 10th (corresponding to the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month), in three communes formerly belonging to the Noi Due district, now Lim town, Noi Due commune, and Lien Bao commune. The festival center will be Hong Van mountain (Lim mountain) in Lim town.
In the huts of the clubs that organize singing exchanges and call-and-response Quan Ho folk singing for tourists, this year the hut of the young Quan Ho folk singing club in Hoan Son commune (Tien Du district) is particularly attractive with performances by young male and female singers.
The performance of "Ten Memories" by seven young female singers, the youngest of whom is Nguyen Bao Tram (3 years old), followed by Nguyen Linh Chi (4 years old), delighted many tourists who sang along to the sweet melodies of Quan Ho folk songs.
Because she was so young, apart from her stage performances, Bao Tram was lovingly looked after by the older members of the troupe, who took turns carrying her around to visit the Lim festival.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen, a teacher of the young Quan Ho singers at the Hoan Son commune's Quan Ho Children's Club, said that the youngest member in the club is two and a half years old, and Bao Tram is the second youngest. Currently, the club has about 36 young members.
"Children aged 3-4 learn very quickly when they want to, but when they don't want to, no amount of coaxing will work. Because they are at the age of learning to eat and speak, and don't know how to read yet, being able to memorize a Quan Ho folk song, sing it correctly, and confidently perform it on stage is already a great achievement," Ms. Nguyen said.

According to Ms. Nguyen, for many years she has been running free Quan Ho folk singing classes so that children around the commune can learn to sing, appreciate Quan Ho folk melodies, and spread these values far and wide. To date, the oldest student has grown up and is now a university student studying art.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (71 years old, from Thai Nguyen province) said that she and six other friends had traveled from their hometown to the Lim Festival at 7 am. Ms. Dung said this was her first time attending the Lim Festival.
"We've seen and heard a lot of Quan Ho folk songs, but we've never witnessed them firsthand, so we were determined to go to the birthplace of Quan Ho to enjoy them," said Ms. Dung.
Similarly, Ms. Luan Thi Bich Thuy (31 years old, from Lang Son province) said that today was also her first time attending the Lim Festival. Ms. Thuy came with her paternal and maternal grandparents, hoping to experience firsthand what it's like to hear Quan Ho folk singing, as she usually only hears it on TV or online.

For many years, the festival organizing committee has strictly prohibited all forms of Quan Ho singing where people hold out their hats to receive money.
