Teaching Quan Ho folk songs in Que Vo ward

BAC NINH - To contribute to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, Que Vo ward (Bac Ninh) has just organized a Quan Ho folk song singing class in 2025 at the Lua residential group's Cultural House.

During 20 days, 65 students who are art cores, Quan Ho lovers in residential groups and members of some Quan Ho clubs practiced being taught typical melodies and Quan Ho singing techniques by officers of the Provincial Center for Culture and Tourism Promotion; learned the manners and repertoire of ancient songs; practiced antiphonal singing and raised awareness of the role of preserving Quan Ho values.

The class is expected to end on December 15, thereby contributing to equipping people with basic knowledge and skills in performing, helping people understand the origin, meaning and artistic characteristics of Quan Ho Bac Ninh .

After the course, students strive to perform fluently the old Quan Ho melodies and new lyrics, becoming the core force participating in activities at local clubs, competitions, and art festivals; supporting the folk song movement in residential areas and contributing to maintaining the Quan Ho lifestyle.

Currently, Que Vo ward has 5 quan ho villages of residential groups: Guot, Danh, Dinh, Dong and number 4. Quan ho singing classes create a playground for exchange and foster core nuclei for the movement to build an increasingly rich and vibrant grassroots cultural life.
