Vietnam Circus Federation improves product quality, promotes Vietnamese culture to the world

(Fatherland) - Many new circus products and programs will be developed by the Vietnam Circus Federation in 2025 to expand the audience, attract tourists and promote Vietnamese culture to the world through circus arts.

A series of meaningful programs spreading Vietnamese culture

On February 19, the Vietnam Circus Federation announced its plan to stage and perform new programs for the audience, many of which are related to the country's major anniversaries in 2025. According to People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, 2025 is a year with many major commemorative events for the country. The unit has plans to stage and perform dozens of new programs for the audience, including programs that are both political in nature to target major anniversaries, and attractive and artistic, bringing valuable moments of entertainment to the audience.

Specifically, the program "National Epic" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will take place on April 19, at the Central Circus (67-69 Tran Nhan Tong, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ). The program is produced by the Vietnam Circus Federation in coordination with Vietnam National Defense Television, bringing the audience human and animal circus acts combined with revolutionary melodies.

To celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh , the Vietnam Circus Federation will organize 4 circus shows with the theme "Lotus" on May 17 and 18. The 7th episode of the circus "Going with the years" on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) will have the theme "Memories of Truong Son", with 5 shows from July 25 to 27. To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the unit will organize 6 circus and music shows with the theme "I love Vietnam".

In particular, in 2025, the Vietnam Circus Federation will coordinate with the Hung Yen Provincial Police to organize the program "Peaceful Sunshine" depicting the image of the People's Public Security soldiers on the circus stage. "Peaceful Sunshine" is expected to be introduced to the audience on August 16 and 17, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security of Vietnam (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

In addition, the Vietnam Circus Federation also organized many special programs such as "Flying Roses" on the occasion of International Women's Day, performed from March 7 to 9, at the Central Circus; "The 2nd Circus and Magic Gala of the Three Regions" with 8 shows, taking place from April 26 to May 1, in Hanoi. There are expected to be 20-22 shows for children on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1); 15 Mid-Autumn Festival shows aimed at young audiences.

The Vietnam Circus Federation also plans to organize the circus program "Connecting Hands of Love" to raise funds to support circus artists in difficult circumstances on August 23 and 24; "World Circus Gala" is scheduled to be held at the end of October in Hanoi and Quang Ninh; "Green Dreams" to honor circus teachers will take place in mid-November; "Merry Christmas and Welcome the New Year" will take place in December.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Circus Federation, the unit will organize the "Vietnam Circus Stars Gala" from January 3 to 18, gathering many generations of circus artists of many types.

The Vietnam Circus Federation has determined that the programs and art performances are all elaborately staged, bringing together leading circus performers, including many artists who have won high awards at international competitions in recent years.

In addition, the Vietnam Circus Federation also cooperates with domestic and foreign art units to bring different works and art programs to the audience. These include a program in collaboration with Japanese artists (in June), "Oriental Dance" - a program combining circus and Au Co orchestra (in October)...

Also expected in 2025 is the play "Tran Nhan Tong" honoring the Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong with a combination of circus and reformed opera, with the ambition to perform in many localities in the country and internationally.

In addition, at the new square stage of the Vietnam Circus Federation, there will be regular performances for tourism such as "Moon River Show", "Don't Want to Laugh", "IONAH Show"...

Circus contributes to "exporting" Vietnamese culture to the world

At the meeting on the tasks of developing the cultural industry and the activities of the Ministry's theaters in 2025 held last week, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung requested that in 2025, in order to achieve the requirements of developing the cultural industry, contributing to raising the economic growth rate to 8%, in which, the performing arts must be one of the leading fields implementing the cultural industry. In particular, the Minister suggested that theaters must improve the quality of programs, apply modern technology in music and some traditional performing arts (puppetry, folk art) to suit the needs and tastes of the public, increasing the experience value for the public, domestic and international tourists.

According to People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, implementing the Minister's direction, the Vietnam Circus Federation determined that the programs and art performances are all elaborately staged, gathering leading circus performers, including many artists who have won high awards at international competitions in recent years.

"Building circus programs into cultural tourism products to serve domestic tourists, at the same time bringing Vietnamese Circus to the world, promoting Vietnamese culture is the task that the Vietnam Circus Federation has signed with the Minister. Therefore, the Vietnam Circus Federation has been making efforts to innovate its repertoire, stage experimental programs and plays, invite international artists to perform and participate in international festivals and competitions to conquer modern audiences."

This year, the Federation will welcome artists from Japan and Italy to perform. The Federation will also continue to develop performances to participate in circus festivals in Russia and Europe, affirming the Vietnamese circus brand in the world.

In 2025, the Vietnam Circus Federation will have a new performing arts center with 300 seats, promising to be a place to perform art programs bearing the mark of the cultural industry.

In the fierce competition of the market mechanism, the Vietnam Circus Federation still has its own position with a series of vibrant art events, which is worth noting.

In order to promote and develop Vietnamese Circus art to all audiences and "export" it to the world, the Vietnam Circus Federation has implemented many activities to attract audiences, as well as called on many organizations and individuals to join hands.

Also according to People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, grasping the audience's taste, the Vietnam Circus Federation has been building plays with spiritual colors, such as The Magic Stick, The Holy Mother of Heaven to serve a large audience in Hanoi; Bach Hac Temple, Au Co Temple (Phu Tho), spreading images and spiritual art products to reach the audience.
