National Cheo Festival held in the homeland of Quan Ho

The Department of Performing Arts said that this year's Cheo Festival brings together 11 professional Cheo art troupes from many provinces and cities across the country (nearly 900 artists, actors and musicians), with 21 plays.

The information was announced by the Department of Performing Arts on October 14.

The 2025 National Cheo Festival will take place from October 20 to November 2 at the Bac Ninh Provincial Culture and Exhibition Center (Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Bac Giang Ward, Bac Ninh Province).

According to the regulations of the organizing committee, each unit participates in one play. In case a public art unit has many troupes, it can register to participate in the festival with the number of plays corresponding to the number of troupes.

Plays staged by units that have won prizes in competitions, festivals, and professional Cheo art performances organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Association of Specialized Literature and Arts, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security are not allowed to participate in festivals.

In addition to the basic criteria, the National Cheo Festival also sets out requirements for the content of plays participating in the festival, such as promoting beauty and humanistic values, being predictive, having a positive impact on social life, awareness of art-loving audiences and all classes of people, building and developing comprehensive human beings, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country...

The plays are elaborately staged, deeply reflecting social life, praising the homeland, country and people of Vietnam, honoring moral and humanistic values ​​and aspirations for goodness.
