Today (January 8th), the Quang Ninh Provincial Police announced that they have recently conducted inspections and discovered many people learning online and buying materials to make firecrackers, posing a potential danger. Notably, the majority of these individuals are very young and familiar with social media.

For example, on January 3rd, the police in Quang Long commune, Hai Ha district, discovered five middle school students illegally manufacturing firecrackers.

During a search of the residence, police seized 1 kg of chemicals, 19 wires, 22 successfully manufactured cylindrical firecrackers, and 30 tubes made from student paper shaped like firecrackers, ranging in height from 5 to 20 cm.

At the police station, the group of students confessed that they ordered the materials online for 500,000 VND. They then learned how to make firecrackers online, with the intention of setting them off during the Lunar New Year.

The Quang Long commune police have drawn up a report and processed the case, while also handing the children over to their families for management, education , and a commitment not to repeat the offense.

In another case, at 1:30 AM on December 31, 2023, the Dong Trieu Town Police discovered D.KP (17 years old, residing in Phuong Nam Ward, Uong Bi City) riding a motorbike with suspicious behavior.

Authorities stopped the vehicle for inspection and found P. carrying a tightly sealed black plastic bag; inside were 8 rolls of firecrackers (each roll containing 60 firecrackers wrapped in red paper), with a total weight of 15.1 kg.

At the police station, P. stated that around the beginning of December 2023, he met an unknown individual on social media who sold homemade firecrackers made of paper. P. ordered 8 meters of firecrackers, at 900,000 VND per meter, to use during the Lunar New Year.

P. took all the fireworks home and hid them. Fearing discovery, P. hid the fireworks at a relative's house. He was arrested by the police while on his way to the house.

Similarly, on December 29, 2023, the Uong Bi City Police caught TTQ (18 years old, residing in Group 2, Cua Ngan area, Phuong Dong ward, Uong Bi City) red-handed transporting 10.7 kg of firecrackers on a motorbike. Q confessed that the firecrackers were self-produced for use during the Lunar New Year.

During a search of Q's house, authorities seized tools and equipment used to make firecrackers.

Previously, on December 22, 2023, the Uong Bi City Police initiated a criminal case and indicted Tran Trung Ket (55 years old, residing in Group 4, Vinh Trung area, Mao Khe ward, Dong Trieu town) for the crime of possessing prohibited goods, seizing 11.5 kg of fireworks.

Nine students manufactured a large quantity of firecrackers in Dak Lak.

On January 8th, information from the Krông Bông District Police indicated that they are consolidating the case file to prosecute nine students who purchased chemicals to manufacture a large quantity of firecrackers for use during the upcoming Tet holiday.

Among these nine students, many are only between 8 and 14 years old and are currently attending schools in this district.

According to the police, the children learned how to make firecrackers on social media, and were discovered and stopped in time by the Ea Trul commune police force while they were doing so.

At the residence of the nine students, the police seized 1kg of unmixed chemicals, 103 firecrackers, 13 rockets, 8 small firecrackers, and 2 meters of detonator wire.
