Fierce fighting in Ugledar, Ukrainian troops retreat en masse.

The battle for control of the strategic city of Ugledar in the Donetsk region continues in the city center. This was announced by the Chairman of the Russian Public Committee on Sovereign Affairs, Vladimir Rogov, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Mr. Rogov added that the Russian armed forces have expanded their control to the outskirts of Ugledar. Accordingly, the Ukrainian armed forces are trying to maintain a small corridor from the city to evacuate soldiers and military equipment.

Previously, Ukraine acknowledged that Russian troops were indeed surrounding Ugledar. According to a Russian soldier nicknamed Manynoy, Russian troops are currently attempting to break through into the village of Bogoyavlenka, a temporary staging area for Ukrainian units withdrawing from Ugledar.

According to Military Summary, Ukraine continues its offensive efforts in the Kursk region. Several Ukrainian armored vehicles were destroyed in attacks east of the village of Vesyole.

Meanwhile, in Toresk, Russian forces are achieving more tactical victories as they move toward the center. Fighting east of New York Village is also intensifying.

In Pokrovsk, fierce fighting is underway. Russian troops are continuing their offensive and are getting closer to the village of Tsukurino. In connection with this front, coal mine No. 105 has come under Russian control.

In Ugledar, Russian forces have gained fire control on all routes into and out of the city. The battle for this fortified city is drawing to a close, with approximately 5,000 Russian soldiers engaged. This number far surpasses the entrenched and trapped Ukrainian forces of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.

Sources on the front lines indicate that Russia is still maintaining a small corridor for Ukraine to resupply and withdraw. However, this could be a trap, as all Ukrainian activity would be within range of Russian firepower, designed to eliminate Ukrainian units in open fields rather than in cramped urban areas.

At this point, Ugledar's fate is essentially sealed.

Ukrainian UAVs attack residential building in Kursk.

Sputnik has just published surveillance video showing the moment a UAV, allegedly from Ukraine, attacked a residential building in Kursk, Russia.

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee announced a targeted attack by Ukrainian armed forces using drones against the city.

Authorities stated: "All fragments of the UAV will be collected and sent for testing to determine its type and model."

Mayor Igor Kutsak stated that no one was injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said it shot down 125 Ukrainian drones in several areas during the night of September 28-29.

According to reports, approximately 67 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted and destroyed in Volgograd, 17 in Belgorod, 17 in Voronezh, 18 in Rostov, 1 in Bryansk, 1 in Kursk, 1 in Krasnodar Krai, and 3 in the Sea of Azov.

Did Commander-in-Chief Syrsky make it difficult to hold the Eastern Front?

The Ukrainian Telegram channel Resident, citing sources within the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reported that Ukrainian troops on the Pokrovsk front are suffering heavy losses, while the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Alexander Syrsky, is unable to stabilize the situation while deploying reserves to Kursk.

"Despite heavy losses, Ukrainian troops on the Pokrovsk front have been ordered to hold their positions without expecting reinforcements. They have no reinforcements, and the available units will be transferred to Kursk, on President Zelensky's orders, to remain in Russian territory at all costs," the source said.

According to Resident, the General Staff stated that Syrsky had no plan on how to stabilize the situation in Donbass while continuing the Kursk operation. The commander-in-chief lost control of the eastern front, and the Ukrainian armed forces were ordered to hold their positions, but without reserves.

Ukrainian sources also confirmed the very difficult situation for the Ukrainian armed forces in the Pokrovsk direction. According to preliminary information, the Russian army has made significant progress in Selidovo and Tsukurino.
