The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam ( Ministry of Transport ) has just sent a document to relevant units regarding the coordination of aviation operations in foggy and low-cloud weather conditions at airports in the northern region.
Accordingly, in the past 2 days, at airports in the northern region, fog, low clouds, and visibility below operating standards have negatively affected flight operations. Many flights have had to divert landings or have been delayed or delayed.
According to information from the meteorological forecasting agency, this weather situation may continue until February 8, from night to early morning.
To proactively prevent, limit and minimize negative impacts caused by weather developments, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires airlines to proactively monitor weather developments, closely coordinate with airports, Air Traffic Management Centers, regional air traffic management companies and aviation service providers at the ports to have appropriate operational plans and solutions.
At the same time, promptly notify and have a plan to serve passengers in case of changes in transportation plans.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested the Vietnam Airports Corporation and airports affected by the weather to increase the deployment of service and operation forces at the ports, as well as promptly release aircraft, and coordinate with airlines to deploy handling plans in case operations are affected by weather impacts.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is responsible for directing the Northern Regional Airport Meteorological Center, the Air Traffic Flow Management Center and air traffic facilities to closely coordinate with relevant meteorological facilities to deploy CDM. timely; monitor and operate flight operations in accordance with weather developments.
At the same time, coordinate and support airlines and airports in operations, ensure safety and minimize negative impacts caused by weather.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also assigned airport authorities to monitor, supervise, and manage the operations of airlines, units, and organizations providing services at airports to ensure security and safety; and handle issues arising in aviation operations at the ports in accordance with regulations and authority.
