Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 began with a display of drones researched and produced in Vietnam.

On the morning of October 27th, the Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 (VIDW 2025) officially opened in Ninh Binh province.

This year's event highlights strategies, policies, and legal frameworks to ensure the development and governance of AI in a safe, transparent, and responsible manner.

The series of events began with a demonstration of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) researched and manufactured in Vietnam.

The Hera drone is a product researched and developed by Vietnamese people, which has received high praise internationally and is featured in today's product exhibition.

This is a line of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) designed and manufactured by Realtime Robotics Vietnam (RtR) - a domestic technology company.

The device has a maximum flight time of 56 minutes without a payload, 50 minutes with a 1kg payload, and 16 minutes with a 15kg payload. Thanks to its versatile and powerful performance, Hera is widely used in security, defense, search and rescue, and industrial fields. (Photo: Dao Hung)

The HORUS PO2 long-range observation drone, manufactured by a Vietnamese company, continued to be showcased to hundreds of domestic and international guests.

Thanks to its vertical take-off and landing capability, HORUS PO2 can operate in any environment without the need for a launch pad or runway. The device has a wingspan of 2,400 mm, an operating altitude of 5,000 m above sea level, and can withstand winds up to Beaufort scale 5.

The ground control system has a range of 20 km and software that monitors critical parameters in real time. The day/night thermal camera system offers up to 4K resolution and long-range zoom capabilities, suitable for reconnaissance and search and rescue operations. (Photo: Dao Hung)

The drones from the Air Defense and Air Force Engineering Institute were also displayed and introduced at the event. These devices are used as flying targets for medium- and short-range air defense missiles, and as interceptor targets for various types of fighter aircraft.

Launched in 2019, Vietnam International Digital Week has become one of the most prestigious annual forums on digital transformation in the region.

In 2025, under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology , the Vietnam International Digital Week will continue to affirm its role as a strategic networking platform, bringing together policymakers, international organizations, experts, and leading technology businesses.

The Ministerial Roundtable Conference on Artificial Intelligence Governance, held on the morning of October 27th, was the highlight of the program. The conference aimed to create a high-level forum for stakeholders to share experiences, initiatives, and policies on responsible AI governance.

The conference contributed to affirming Vietnam's proactive role, initiatives, and commitment to international cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Within the framework of the event, conferences, workshops, and other forums will be held, focusing on six key themes: 5G, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, digital human resources, and digital technology businesses.
