A series of hospital directors became heads and deputy heads of departments at a university.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Nearly 30 directors, deputy directors of hospitals, directors of research institutes, and former leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health are participating in leading departments at this university.

The University of Health Sciences (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) has just issued 80 decisions assigning duties to heads and deputy heads of departments in 5 faculties including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, traditional medicine and nursing.

Among them, nearly 30 directors, deputy directors, research institute directors, and former leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health are involved in overseeing departments within the medical and pharmaceutical faculties.

Some notable figures include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Thanh, Director of Thong Nhat Hospital and concurrently Deputy Head of the Internal Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of Children's Hospital 1 and concurrently Head of the Pediatrics Department, Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phan Thuy, Director of the Dermatology Hospital and concurrently Head of the Dermatology Department, Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Nguyen Huu Lan, Director of Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital and concurrently Head of the Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Department, Faculty of Medicine;

Dr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Psychiatric Hospital, also serves as Head of the Department of Mental Health, Faculty of Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Vinh Hung, Director of Binh Dan Hospital, also serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine;

Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Director of Tu Du Hospital, also serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet, Director of Hung Vuong Hospital, also serves as Deputy Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Health Department; MSc. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital, is in charge of the Clinical Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery 1, Faculty of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Do Tan Khoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Medicine Hospital, is in charge of the Acupuncture Department, Faculty of Traditional Medicine.

The University of Health Sciences is the 8th member university of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, established in June 2024 based on the development of the medical faculty of this university.

Currently, the university has 7 functional departments, 5 faculties, and 3 affiliated centers. The number of permanent staff is 282, including 5 professors and associate professors, 31 PhD holders, and 137 master's degree holders.
