Number of tourists to Dien Bien increases during Lunar New Year holiday 2024

Accordingly, the number of tourists during the 2024 Lunar New Year holidays reached 80,200, an increase of 3.8 times over the same period in 2023. Of which, the number of guests staying reached 12,000, the occupancy rate of rooms at accommodation establishments reached 48%. Total revenue from tourism activities reached 142.7 billion VND, an increase of 3.9 times over the same period in 2023. Typically, the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum and relic sites belonging to the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield relic complex welcomed 7,320 visitors; including 35 foreign visitors; the rest were mainly domestic tourists.

To achieve that result, Dien Bien province has done a good job of organizing to welcome tourists during the Tet holiday with many exciting and attractive activities. In addition to the participation of functional agencies, a number of organizations, individuals and businesses have also gradually improved the quality of tourism products and services; thereby bringing many new products, attracting a large number of tourists to participate in the New Year.
