Nui Thung (also known as the Mountain God's Eye) is located in Ban Danh hamlet, Quoc Toan commune, Tra Linh district and belongs to Cao Bang Geological Park.
Thung Mountain is about 100m high above the lake surface, like a giant green tower lying alone in the middle of the valley. In the Tay language, this place is called Phja Piot. This is a fossil cave formed more than 300 million years ago.
Due to the uplift during the neotectonic period, the mountain has its current height. The site of Thung Mountain includes tower-shaped and cone-shaped mountain blocks interwoven with dozens of large and small lakes.
Approaching the magic eye, visitors can see through from one side to the other, feeling like a cave in the sky, very interesting.
Around the mountain are lakes connected to surface streams or underground streams. Thanks to this, the water level of the lakes can change seasonally, sometimes very suddenly, in just a short period of time the water will rise or drain completely.
In recent years, many international tourists have known about Thung Mountain and come here to visit.
At the foot of the mountain is a large valley. From the high check-in point, you can fully enjoy the panoramic view of this place.
Many cars and motorbikes travel, making the entrance to Thung Mountain become interesting winding trails.
\Dry season from September to March of the following year (lunar calendar), the entire valley is a carpet of grass. Visitors can camp, picnic by bicycle…
During the rainy season from April to August, this place turns into a clear blue lake of up to 15 hectares.
The Mountain God's Eye has been ranked as a National Scenic Spot by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism according to Decision No. 1988/QD-BVHTTDL dated June 29, 2021.
