Conflict over selling flowers on Tet holiday, one person was slashed and suffered 33% disability

The Police Investigation Agency is taking statements from suspect Le Quang Tuyen.

According to the investigation records, in January 2025, Le Quang Tuyen and Le Van Hung (born in 1986, residing in An Cuu ward) collaborated to sell flowers during Tet (Lunar New Year) in front of the Dan Nam Giao area.

At noon on January 19, 2025, Nguyen Van Chung (born in 1992, residing in Thuan Hoa ward) asked Hung and Tuyen to transport flowers for him when someone wanted to buy them, but they refused. A dispute and a challenge ensued between the two sides.

Subsequently, Chung, armed with a machete, along with a group of four, pursued and attacked Hung. Seeing this, Le Quang Tuyen retaliated by wielding a sword. As a result, Nguyen Van Chung sustained injuries to his arm and back, including flexor tendon damage, severed ulnar artery and nerve, and ulnar paralysis, with a disability rating of 33%, while Le Van Hung's disability rating was 1%.

The Police Investigation Agency is currently consolidating the case file to strictly prosecute the suspects in accordance with the law.
