Northern region has prolonged cold and rain, Hanoi 15 degrees Celsius

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on February 25th, the weather in the North improved compared to the previous day. The lowest temperatures in the region increased slightly, reaching 16-19 degrees Celsius in the lowlands and 13-16 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas.

The coldest time of the day will be at 6 AM, with many places potentially recording temperatures below 11 degrees Celsius accompanied by light rain.

In the following hours, the rain showed signs of decreasing, occurring only in a few places. However, the low temperatures meant that the biting cold persisted.

The meteorological agency warned that from the night of February 26th, the cold air mass intensified, causing temperatures in the North to drop and light rain to return. The dominant weather pattern for next week will be light rain and drizzle, characteristic of spring weather.

At sea, in the northeastern part of the South China Sea, there are strong winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8; waves are 2-4m high, and the sea is rough.

The sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau and the western sea area of the southern South China Sea (including the western sea area of the Spratly Islands) will experience northeasterly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, gusting to force 7. Waves will be 2-3m high, and the sea will be rough.

All vessels and other activities in these sea areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and high waves.

Weather forecast for the night of February 24th and the day of February 25th across the country:

- Hanoi: Light rain during the night and morning, followed by scattered rain. Cold weather. Lowest temperature 12-14°C, highest temperature 16-18°C.

- Northwestern Vietnam: Scattered rain, with decreasing cloud cover and sunny skies in the afternoon in the far Northwest. Lowest temperatures 15-18°C, some places below 14°C; highest temperatures 18-21°C, 25-28°C in the far Northwest.

- Northeast region: Light rain at night and in the morning, followed by scattered rain in some areas. Northeast wind at level 2-3, cold weather. Lowest temperature 12-15 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas below 6 degrees Celsius; highest temperature 15-18 degrees Celsius.

- From Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue: Scattered rain in the north, light rain in some areas in the south. North to northwest winds, force 2-3. Lowest temperature 16-19°C, 20-22°C in some areas in the south; highest temperature 19-22°C in the north, 25-28°C in the south.

- From Da Nang to Binh Thuan: Rain in some areas at night, sunny during the day. Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius; highest temperature 29-32 degrees Celsius.

- Central Highlands: No rain at night, sunny during the day. Lowest temperature 17-20°C, highest temperature 31-34°C.

- Southern Vietnam: Sunny days, with some areas in the Southeast experiencing hot weather. Lowest temperatures 23-26°C; highest temperatures 31-34°C, 34-36°C in the Eastern region.
